A year in dahlias 🌸
( 🇫🇷 traduction française en commentaire)
I have a special love story with dahlias, and it started long before they became trendy again. The name of my studio actually comes directly from the dahlia ‘Honka’, a curious variety of this flower with a thousand shapes and colors.
And can we just talk about those colors for a second? The endless shades of pink, coral, peach, yellow, orange, red, and white shift with the temperatures and never fail to fascinate me.
This is the fourth year I’ve been growing dahlias ‘in abundance’ in my tiny urban garden, purely for the joy of picking them for your special days. There are my absolute favorites that I replant year after year, the ones that didn’t quite thrive here, and the new ones I’m experimenting with.
This summer’s severe heatwave and drought really put the plants to the test, but they held strong and gifted me with beautiful, successive waves of blooms. So here are the ones I especially loved this season, though to be completely honest, it would take way more than one Reel to show them all to you...
Maybe one day I’ll have a garden big enough to expand the collection!
What about you, which one is your favorite?
