DF-1 is a real-time feedback suppression processor built around a detection stage + notch filter bank + safety output stage.
The signal path is: Input (stereo) -> mono analysis tap -> feedback detector -> notch filter bank -> output limiter -> Output (stereo)
➡️ Detection:
DF-1 analyzes incoming audio using a lightweight Goertzel-bin approach at selected candidate frequencies. For each analysis window, it compares narrowband bin energy against broadband window energy. A bin is considered a feedback candidate when its relative energy exceeds the user threshold and shows sustained rise across consecutive frames (to reject short transients).
➡️ Suppression:
When a feedback frequency is confirmed, DF-1 activates the nearest available notch slot. Each slot is a narrow biquad notch / EQ dip, allowing targeted attenuation with minimal collateral tonal loss. Up to 8 notch slots can be used in parallel, with user-adjustable notch depth.

🟧 Auto: detector engages notches automatically.
🟩 Manual: user controls notch activation/frequencies directly.
🟦 Adaptive: notches can track slow frequency drift to follow moving feedback peaks.
Dynamics and safety Timing controls (Speed, Release) shape how quickly suppression engages and relaxes. A final output limiter helps keep peaks controlled after corrective filtering.
