going….but not really gone…

There are only 2 days left of swapping in my permanent space here (I’m not crying, you’re crying)

But what is happening next I hear you say through your tears….

Well the thought of leaving here was TOO.DAMN.MUCH so I will be popping up in this building in the beautiful spaces created by and throughout 2023.

This building is full of some of THE most supportive women I’ve ever known and I am humbled at how we have come together to keep swapping alive on Huntly Street.

Gym Gals….you FREAKIN rock 🤘🏻

it’s time……..

Due to me leaving the space on Huntly Street at the end of the year, I won’t be accepting any more swaps from you all for the rest of the year.

I need to reduce my stock so I’m not moving a f-tonne of clothes out!

So please still come visit - you can buy as many items as you want - not restricting y’all to what’s on your swap cards.

And any swap cards left over will be redeemable in the next phase of Swish in 2023 🤘🏻

*takes a deep breath*

It is with SUCH a heavy heart that I’m here to say that Swish at 39 Huntly Street will be closing its swapping doors at the end of the year.

Life took a massive personal turn at the tail end of last year for me and my wee team, and of course we have ALL collectively had to deal with the rising costs all around us.

I can no longer justify the beautiful pink bricks and mortar element to this passion of mine and all of yours.

So whilst it’s the end of Swish having a permanent residence here at The Gym, I do hope to still be able to pop up in locations around the city and shire. And maybe even a web site - watch this space.

So if you have swaps left please come see me before the end of the year for some Autumn / Winter Q-T’s.

You have all made these last 2 years so much fun to come to ‘work’ - which is not something I said often in O&G over the years!

Thankyou ALL for being part of this swapping journey, whether you came to the shop, threw out a like or chatted over Insta. I hope it made a little difference in your world 🖤🌎♻️

It’s that time of year again - prepping for season change out on the rails!

As has now become tradition - August will be a no swap month to clear the rails of some summer stock before I do the big change out.

You can come along and just buy for one month only.

Those of you who have already booked for August are welcome to still swap but everyone else….IXNAY on the swapping.

It’s the perfect time to take someone along to see what Swish is all about - I can talk them through the normal process and they can see what kinda awesome pieces the rails have to offer!

I’m closed until Friday 5th August for a wee Gal’s break - bliss!

Just head heads up with what’s happening here at Swish over the festivities and into the New Year.

I’ll be open as normal to 24th December.

Re-opening Tuesday 28th Dec to midday 29th December.

From midday 29th Dec - 21st Jan Swish will be closed whilst I make my way upstairs to my new space on the 2nd floor here .

s p a r k l e - t a s t i c

Nothing quite says Christmas outfit like a plethora of sequins.

We are pre-conditioned to love sparkly glittery thing.

Evolutionary Biologists say it’s because our ancestors had to find water for survival and were attuned to the light reflecting on it’s surface.

Nowadays we get it straight from a tap so we have shifted this instinct to being mesmerised by sparkly clothing instead.

The problem is…these wee sparkly numbers are plastic, plastic and more plastic. The little blighters will end up in landfill where they won’t decompose or even worse, make their way into our waterways where they are mistake for food by fish 🐟

So if you really wanna wear sequins this festive - try not to buy new and add to this problem

Raid your friends wardrobes, depop, ebay, charity shops or why not make an appointment and come and swap for the awesome sparkly beauties I have in at the moment ✨

And when it comes to washing, think about using an to grab all those tiny particles that will come off each times it’s washed 🧺

Despite the October holidays making everywhere a little quieter this year, you bishes still managed to swap for 155 items this month!

With the estimate being that extending the life of a piece of clothing by just 9 months reduces its environmental impact by 20-30% - that’s a whole lot of planet friendly clothes wearing going on now 🙌🏼

Party season is on its way, who’s up for swapping for some conscious glitz and glam this season?
