Camo Collection No.18 - Yugoslavian M89/93

Now, trying to find info on old camo patterns is difficult. Trying to find info on old camo patterns from countries that don't exist anymore is even more difficult. But, trying to find info on an old camo pattern that came to be around the same time that the entire country falls apart into genocidal civil wars? Well, f**k.

Originally issued in 1989 and later going through a slight colour palette change into M93 (in 1993, of course), M89/93 would be seen alongside many other patterns during the civil wars by both Bosnians and Serbs.

The camo takes a lot of colour inspiration from US ERDL, but instead opts for more of an oak leaf style of pattern.

There is the temptation to make a lot of war crime jokes here, but frankly, even I'm not insensitive enough to make light of something that displaced so many in Europe within living memory.

Big Sew doesn't want you to know this, but you can just change needle bars and use a different needle pattern.

My Tysew lockstitch originally came with an odd pattern of needle (DLX1) that was a fair bit skinnier than the common DBX1, as well as being more expensive. Unfortunately, I bought like 100 needles a year or so back before I realised I could fit a regular juki needle bar instead.

Don't be daunted by your machine. This took me all of 10 minutes to do, and now I can use the much sturdier, more available, and cheaper DBX1 pattern needles.

TLDR: Me want spend less on needles, me change needle bar to take cheaper but better needle.

Sgathach slings are more or less done. Just need to get the sling pads done before I put them out.
The sling pads will be an optional extra, I'm personally not one for sling pads, and I know many people already have sling pads from other bits of kit, so to keep prices down, the sling pads will be sold separate from the slings.

Otherwise, it's all about custom work lately (and slacking off in the sun)
