First heard this song 49 years ago and even then, as a spotty Beatles fan, I realized something very special had just been released into the world. It doesn’t surprise me then that I Feel Love is consistently rated one of the top ten dance records of all time. Like Donna Summer herself, the song was original, ahead of its time and mind blowing. Brain Eno apparently ran into the studio where Bowie was, saying he’d just heard the future. I Feel Love inspired new genres and made sense to people who didn’t normally like Dance music or, as it was broadbrush labelled back in’77, Disco.
So, I say to all you young ‘uns, visit Donna Summer on your platforms. Discover a rare original talent. Then buy her vinyl. That’s an order.

We probably shouldn't be posting this because Bob's already nicked this copy for himself but we're too excited to keep it to ourselves (although watch, maybe he'll leave his window open...). This record exudes confident, sensual and fresh energy from Prince. Released at the beginning of the 90s, it embraced the swing and swagger of the hip hop movement. Tracks move from the soulful strut of "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" to the alluring masterpiece which is "Cream" - reportedly written by Prince while standing in front of a mirror. Anways, not even real diamonds and pearls would get Bob to give up this one.

We got another 209 LPs yesterday, lovely collection of classics from Hotel California to Bat Out Of Hell to ELO & Fleetwood Mac.
