🎻 FINDING THE RIGHT VIOLIN: WHY SIZE & COMFORT MATTER

Choosing a violin isn’t just about finding one that sounds good, it needs to feel right too!

🎻 Size matters: This is particularly important for children! A violin that’s too big can make it harder to reach the strings comfortably, maintain good posture and develop the right technique. It can also make playing more tiring than it needs to be. It’s tempting to buy a bigger instrument for your child to grow into, but the right fit is much more important.

🎶 Comfort is key: The right shoulder rest and chin rest can make a real difference to how comfortably a player holds their instrument. When a violin fits properly, it can help make learning and practising a much more enjoyable experience.

The family of the late Rona Nicolson have asked us to share the following notice:
NICOLSON - Peacefully in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Wednesday 16th September 2026, Rona, of Alyth, beloved mum of Stephanie and Nicola and loving Granaidh. Dear friend of many. Funeral service in Perth Crematorium on Friday 2nd October at 2.30pm, to which all family and friends are invited. Lots of bright, colourful and fragrant flowers are welcome. Donations, if desired, to furthering research into treatment of brain tumours.
