TCOTD: The World, from the Steampunk Tarot
The World is about things coming full circle and finally reaching the end of something you’ve been working towards. Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s next, that we don’t actually stop and look at how far we’ve come. You might not be exactly where you want to be today, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t achieved a lot along the way. However, this card also comes with the advice to check for any loose ends that need dealing with - if there are, sort them out now, rather than carrying them with you into whatever comes next. Give yourself a bit of credit for how far you’ve come, finish what needs finishing, and then get ready for a new start. It's also important to remember that not everything that ends, is a bad thing. Sometimes, something has simply run its course and there’s nothing more for you to do with it. And yes, this includes friendships, relationships and jobs................not everything is meant to come with us into the next chapter.

Ahhh, the "reality check" card when it pops out in reverse! Do you think others look at your life and think you've "got everything sorted", but for you, it doesn't actually feel like that? We often try and fill a void by shopping, doing well in our careers, or reaching material goals, only to find when we get there, we still feel the same. So what's the problem? Well, it could be that we're emotionally lacking something that makes us feel like "us". This card asks us to identify and acknowledge what it REALLY is that we want - because what we THINK we want and what actually makes us happy, can be two entirely different things.............................

This card brings that little spark of excitement. Something might have caught your attention — an idea, an opportunity, or maybe something you’ve been thinking about doing for a while. You don’t need to have it all "sorted" before you start. Sometimes you just have to follow that spark and see where it takes you. BUT there’s a difference between being excited about something and actually doing something with it! The Princess has plenty of enthusiasm, but she can also get bored and move onto the next thing when the excitement wears off...........So if there’s something you really want, give it a chance. Take that first step, but DON'T give up on it the minute it starts to feel like hard work.

This image is inspired by the Rider Waite deck, but isn't actually part of any printed deck. I'm a bit under weather this morning, so haven't been downstairs to get my cards. Anyway, down to the "business end"! Don't be surprised if things aren’t quite as clear as you’d like them to be today. You might be waiting for an answer, wondering where you stand with someone or just trying to make sense of something that doesn’t seem to add up. The problem is, when we don’t know the full story, our minds have a habit of filling in the blanks for us -and usually not with anything good! The advice here is not to assume the worst today. You might not have all the answers yet, but that doesn’t mean something is wrong. Give things a bit of time and let whatever you don’t know surface in its own time. Saying that though, don't ignore your gut. If something genuinely "feels off", don’t ignore it. There’s usually a reason we get that little niggling feeling, even if we can’t put our finger on what it is. Just try to work out whether it really is your intuition talking, or whether you’ve simply over-thought about something so much, that you’ve convinced yourself there’s a problem! The message here is that you don’t need to have everything figured out today. Just take things as they come, don’t jump to conclusions, and deal with what you actually know, rather than what you think might be happening. Sometimes you just have to wait for the fog to clear.

I'm hopefully being discharged from hospital today (fingers crossed). Big thanks to Anna Wilamowska for the excellent care, laughter and catching me before I hit the floor! Tarot Card of the Day should be back on Sunday - might be tomorrow, but unlikely at this stage, but let's see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for all the lovely messages, the last week has provided its challenges, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet,!!!!

TCOTD: The Star,
I've been in hospital for nearly a week now and yesterday turned out to be very challenging, so this card really resonated with me this morning. If things haven’t been going quite to plan lately (that's an understatement for me at least!), don’t give up. Just because you can’t see the results yet doesn’t mean you’re wasting your time. This is the card that tells you to keep going. You don’t have to have everything worked out, and you don’t need to know exactly how things are going to turn out. Just concentrate on what you can do today and let the rest unfold. Keep the faith, and keep putting in the effort. Things don’t magically fall into place just because we want them to. Trust that you’re heading in the right direction, dig deep and keep going.....................

Don't try and get ahead of yourself today, especially if you think you have all the answers - you don't. It could be that an opportunity presents itself that looks rather promising, but if you take the time to dig into it, chances are that it's not at all what it first presented itself as. By the same token, if something comes along that doesn't necessarily set your world on fire, give it a second look anyway - it may turn out to be more than you expected. Do yourself a favour and ask some questions, mull over what you find out, and hold off on making any big decisions today. Quite often, the way forward opens up when we stop looking so hard for it.

This card is very much about self-care, and learning to say "no" to others, especially if you're constantly giving away your time and energy. Some may not like it, and may even try to make you feel guilty, but you need to put yourself at the top of the "care" list for a change – you matter just as much as everyone else does. You don't always have to be the one who looks after everyone, keeps everyone happy or makes everything okay. Sometimes you need to turn some of that care and attention back towards yourself. The message for today is clear - if you need a little more time for yourself today, take it. If you don't want to do something, say no. And most importantly, don't feel guilty about it. Looking after yourself isn't selfish – constantly putting yourself last isn't something you should have to do either.

I know I said no cards until at least Wednesday (I don't have my cards with me where I am). However, I've decided to use a random card generator, and this morning we have The Star. This card is particularly relevant to me today, because last night we lost our beloved little falabella named Precious.
Today we're asked to cut ourselves some slack, and just feel whatever we need to feel. The Star usually brings hope, healing and the promise of brighter days, but sometimes it appears when you're nowhere near ready to think about brighter days. If you've been through a loss, disappointment or something that has simply broken your heart, don't expect yourself to be suddenly okay. Healing isn't about forgetting what you've lost, and it certainly doesn't mean you have to stop missing who or whatever it is that's gone. This card is that tiny bit of light that's still there when everything else feels incredibly dark. You might not be able to see much beyond today right now, and that's okay. Just trust that, little by little, things won't always hurt quite as much as they do at this moment. Some family members - irrespective of how many legs they have - leave behind such a big empty space when they're gone because they were such an important and integral part of our lives. ❤️ RIP Precious, you were, are, and will always be, very much loved ######
