THE MYSTERY OF NANNA’S BANNER 🐦
There’s something rather strange in town,
Our Nanna’s banner keeps falling down.
We tied it tight upon the rail,
But someone or something makes it fail.
Now maybe it’s a seagull, exceptionally bright,
Who studies cable ties late at night.
With beak like pliers and criminal flair,
He snips the top ones with remarkable care. 😂
He leaves the bottom ones perfectly tied,
Then struts down Eastgate bursting with pride.
“Another job done!” we hear him squawk,
Before stealing someone’s chips on his walk.
But if our feathered suspect isn’t to blame,
Then sadly a human is playing this game.
These banners cost money, they’re not there for fun,
And replacing them every time isn’t easily done.
So if you don’t like Nanna, that’s perfectly fine,
You don’t have to love her, her cakes or her sign.
Just tell us we promise we won’t take offence…
But please leave Nanna’s banner on the fence! ❤️
And should anyone spot a seagull with pliers,
Cable cutters, scissors or suspicious desires…
Please let us know because quite frankly,
we’d like to offer him a job putting the next one back up. 🐦😂
