Fieldtrip Adventure Supplies We design and make classic gear to get you outside

We have been engraving a LOT of Land Rover gift sets over the last couple of weeks.

I’m wondering if there might be a correlation between those who are good at buying their Christmas presents early, and people who need to buy gifts for someone who loves Land Rovers 🤔

We currently have plenty in stock, so don’t stress, but when you do get round to buying your presents keep us in mind - I bet you know someone who would love a set of Landy Cups, and a big flask of tea with their name on it.

Day 9/90 of building Fieldtrip in public - “Why the small things matter”

We’ve got someone new starting in the workshop this week, and showing them the ropes made me notice a few things we do that probably wouldn’t make sense to a lot of businesses.

- Every order is wrapped like we’re gifting it ourselves, we handwrite a thank you note to every customer and every cup engraving is lined up with the logo on the bottom. You’d probably not notice if we didn’t, but we would.

None of these things are quick or efficient, and they’re harder and harder to justify as scale.

But to us they’re non-negotiable, and we hope it’s the difference between receiving a generic e-commerce order, or getting a parcel that makes you smile when you open it, because you can tell someone really cared about it.

We’re always looking for new ways to be ever better, so what brands have you ordered from that do this brilliantly?

I can finally show your our latest collaboration…

For those of you who remember me carrying pallets of boxes down the stairs from our workshop, well they were being packed up to send off to Daylesford!

I’ve been a huge fan of Daylesford Organic for years, and everything they put out is so well executed - so I felt a lot of pressure to get this one right.

The custom illustrations by hugoguinness worked so well when engraved onto the cups, and I love the matching colour of the custom bags we made using Halley Stevensons Ltd | Fabric Innovation fabric.

This is a very limited edition, and it’s only available from Daylesford - so you’d get yours quick before the Beckhams buy them all up as gifts for their friends this Christmas.

Day 2/90 - The Fieldtrip Origin Story

I’ve never shared this story on here before, but this is how waking up in intensive care ten years ago ended up with me quitting my job and launching Fieldtrip.

And to the intensive care team who looked after me: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I literally wouldn’t be here without you.

Right folks, it’s been a crazy few months and it’s time for us to take a little break.

The family and I are heading down to Cornwall for a couple of weeks exploring the coast, testing out some new products, and reminding ourselves why we’re building this business in the first place!

While we’re away Jack is going to be holding the fort and getting your orders posted out, but it may take 1-2 days longer than usual for your order to arrive.

We’ll be back in September, and in the meantime I hope you have a wonderful August 🙌

To celebrate our 2nd year at The Game Fair we’re really excited to introduce these new cup designs, designed by the fantastic 5am Illustration / Sam Hubbard.

Featuring iconic British wildlife like the Barn Owl, Hare, Pheasant and Roe Deer — the detailed illustrations look incredible engraved on our stainless steel cups. These are available today on our stand - B376.

To celebrate, we’re giving you and a friend the chance to each win a set of illustrated cups — and you will also win an original illustration by Sam (you can choose which animal you’d like).

Introducing The Fieldtrip Wanderer cup set 👀

We’ve been working on this idea for a couple of years now, and been through dozens of iterations to get to something we think you’re going to love.

Based around the same brilliant stacking, vacuum insulated cups that we use in our Expedition cup set, the change is all about how the stack is held together.

The Wanderer set uses a cork lid and adjustable strap system, which we think is brilliant for 3 reasons:

#1: It’s adjustable! You and a friend heading out for a coffee? Just pack two cups. Got the whole gang coming down the beach for a picnic? Take a 5 cup stack. Same cups, same strap. Just take what you need and leave the rest.

#2: The top cup is now a storage container. The cork lid means you can fill the top cup with your tea bags, coffee beans, even your secret stash of shortbread biscuits! Then use the cup as normal, and when you’re heading home you can fill it with all your small rubbish items - used tea bags, coffee grounds etc - and it’ll keep your bag clean and dry.

#3: They cost less! We love the waxed cotton bags our Expedition cup sets come in (and we’ll continue to offer them), but they’re a lot of work to make. The strap system is much simpler, and means we can offer these for just £59.95 (£10 less than the Expedition cup set).

These will be available on our website from next week, but if you’re coming to The Game Fair this weekend then make sure to come see us (stand B376) and you can be one of the first to get your hands on them.

PS: To celebrate the launch we’ve got a very special edition set coming, designed by the brilliant 5am Illustration / Sam Hubbard. You can win a set for you and a friend in our competition launching this Friday 🎁

A massive thank you to everyone who’s trusted us with their Father’s Day gift this year.

Something I’d never imagined when starting Fieldtrip is how personal every order feels. In the last week we’ve had orders come through that will celebrate someone’s very first Father’s Day, through to an engraving celebrating the life of a Dad who recently passed away.

That’s why we take so much care over every detail. From manually checking every order and any special requests, through to carefully packing and adding a handwritten thank you card from us.

There’s no warehouse here, no production line, and definitely no robots - just a family business putting a lot of love and care into everything we do.

Ps. If you’ve not ordered yet then there’s still time - order before Monday 15th June for guaranteed delivery. Link in bio.

So sad to hear the news about Nigel Cabourne.

He was a big inspiration for me when setting up Fieldtrip - his use of natural materials, the timeless looks, plus an incredible attention to detail.

I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times, and he was everything you’d hope he’d be - full of energy, a cheeky smile, and talking to you like you’d been friends for years.

Sending lots of love to his friends and family, and a massive thank you to Nige for being such a legend
