I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. If I’m honest, I’d fallen a bit out of love with Instagram, and there’s been lots going on behind the scenes and in the studio. So I thought I’d start again by reintroducing myself …

Hi, I’m Harriett. I love doing wild and slightly ridiculous things, and I have a habit of saying yes to adventures before finding out what they actually involve

Exhibit A: signing up for the Snowdon SkyRace, a mountain race in Eryri, with steep climbs, rocky trails and sections where you have to scramble your way along the ridges.

The best DNF (did not finish) EVER ! We may not have completed it but it is up there with one of the craziest things I have ever done. And I now realise why it is called a ‘sky race’

1. Because we were literally pretty much in the clouds.
2. It is definitely a race but it is most certainly not a run 😂 I couldn’t even call it a trail run really, it was a scramble and rock climb (without ropes).

It took us 3 hours and 15 minutes to scramble the first 10km, which put us just outside the 3 hour time cap, so we couldn’t complete the official race, so we skipped a peak and carried on without our timers and trackers to Crib Goch where we held on for dear life as we scramble across a sheer drop ridge.

8 hours and 57 minutes
24.16km
44,949 steps
Heart rate reaching 200bpm 😳
And it took me 5 days to be able to walk properly again

Who says you need to be abroad to enjoy evenings like these?

Fish and chips on the beach, paddling in the sea, making sand turtles covered in shells, and watching the sun slowly disappear.

Sometimes the best summer evenings are the simplest ones, and they’re right on our doorstep. No rush. No agenda. Just good company, salty air and those little moments that somehow become the memories you hold onto the longest

I wouldn’t swap an evening at Alnmouth beach for much.

Blink and you’ll miss them…

Every time we restock our Charred Wood pieces, they seem to find new homes almost as quickly as they arrive!

Each one starts as a piece of natural wood before Chris carefully burns the design into the surface by hand using pyrography. We love that the wood grain becomes part of the finished artwork, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Whether it’s a favourite Northumberland landmark, a coastal scene or local wildlife, they’re the sort of pieces that people keep coming back for.

Have a swipe through the latest collection… but if you spot one you love, we’d recommend not hanging about for too long.
