New in for a full restoration is this stunning settee with the most adorable carved front feet.
Desperately trying to find a place in my own home for this.. but if not it will be for sale in the future, just give me a few months to fit the weaving in around all the making for ! 🍊
This charming settee has come my way all the way from Surry by a very talented lady illustrator who was a treat to meet, we were definitely cut from the same mold and as she was juggling a gazillion different things this just wasn't going to get woven, so it's come to me to restore.😍

This week's caning crusaders - fueled by coffee, cake and fantastic chat, did amazingly well, and I really do wish I'd started these courses years ago- as I enjoy them as much as these ladies did.

So delighted with my 2⭐ from the Great Taste Awards 2026 for my Pickled Pears to go with & on a cheese board. 🧀
One of the judges comments was that "they were a memorable and stand out product" 🌟
What an incredible year I'm having 🎉 with my Double Gold at the for the best traditional marmalade in the world 2026! 🍊🏆

Today we have these beauties, picked locally with my helpful son , less than one mile from my kitchen.
These will get made into Stokoe House Garrigill Green Tomato Chutney, rich and smokey in flavour.
Last year I made this mid September so these 🍅 are super early.

So no judgement on what on earth I look like- it's hot and I'm fruit for my preserves and the horse fly's can do one 🪰
Luckily my in my village is Carolyn the owner of and I saw one of her posts about this Fly Off stuff for horsey people & horses 🐴 , so I stopped her as she walked past my house to tend her horses and said can I use them just on me?
The next day she gave me two packs to try. Now these air terrorists with wings really, really like me and I react REALLY badly to bites, but happy to say I was not bothered today!
Two days ago I was literally sent running from the red gooseberry patch nearly crying lol 🪰🪰🪰🪰

Picking the stalks off 10 kilos of freshly picked Alston Moor Blackcurrants for my preserves. Todays haul was from the idyllic setting of Kirkhaugh church rectory garden- thanks Kim & Neil 😘
I dragged the teenager with me and he helped without much protest which was nice!
More fruit tomorrow...

This afternoon's bounty, 5 kilos of red Gooseberries picked in ridonculous heat for Alston Moor 🌞
I battled the heat, thistles, shoulder height nettles and
I probably shouldn't have gone out at 2pm, I'll wait until after 4 pm tomorrow!
But bonus I saw a short eared owl 🦉
