For Sale!!!

So, change of plan..... I'm selling both wheels. Yes you heard right......

Throughout today I was pondering on whether I will actually use my wheels and if I'm honest, I don't enjoy spinning as much as what you might think.

Both are Ashford Traditionals and they both work. The 2nd wheel has had a partial restoration and still needs some TLC and maybe a couple of replacement parts which I have coming. Maybe a nice simple project for someone? Ive sorted the knocking out too!! The 1st works beautifully.

Ashford Wheel 1 ..... Β£250

Ashford Wheel 2 .... Β£200

Ashford Spinning stool .... Β£100 or Β£50 if bought with a Wheel.

I can throw in some other bits too once I find them...... bobbins, lazy Kate etc!

We have lift off!!!!

Although there is an annoying knocking which I will investigate. It might be that I have had to leave one of the Crank sleeves off the wheel as the wheel was sticking. Maybe a bit of oil will sort it.

2nd video is my 1st wheel. I love the hodge podge sanding job of my 2nd compared to the 70's orange varnish of my 1st but ohhhhh she spins so nicely!

If anyone knows of a cumbrian based or Northumberland based spinning wheel maintenance provider please do let me know!!!!

One of these wheels will be going up for sale along with my spinning stool soon!

Wish me luck!!!

My 2nd wheel has been in parts for a while now after someone started a job and didnt finish it, so I'm rolling up my sleeves and doing it myself!!!

Once done, I will see which one spins best for my technique then I will sell the other along with my spinning stool.

More photos to come but so far so good!

Its been a busy few months for The Border Weaver but now it is time to start prepping for the winter weave session!

Lots of wool washing and yarn buying to get next year's stock levels up!

I have a few commissions already in and I will be starting those shortly after a wee break but then I will be open for more once I start settling in for my hibernation period.

Here are a few of my favourite pictures from this seasons events as The Border Weaver and with my Sisters and Brothers of Nordan Jorfors.
