An Easter wreath on its way to its new home. Not a front door for the neighbours to enjoy, but a garden wall where it can be seen and enjoyed by its creator throughout the day. Anyone else enjoy their wreath situated somewhere other than a front door?

Where are the blues, yellows and whites so reminiscent of spring flowers? Well, this season we are going mostly dark, rich and decadently scented instead. What is your favourite spring flower palette?

Just a few spaces remaining on our Easter wreath workshop on the morning of Good Friday so if you’d like to enjoy a couple of hours immersed in fresh flowers and foliage then do get in touch soonest. Scented snippings!
Dark and mysterious tulips and wallflowers complemented by highly scented vanilla cream narcissi, viburnum blossom and skimmia with a few other bits and bobs hidden in the depths.

Might be controversial here:
Just spotted a van delivering in my village belonging to a flower farmer florist located well over a round trip of an hour and a half away on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border. How sustainable is that??
There are at least three other far more local flower farmers in the vicinity all growing or sourcing the same British flowers and foliage as this company. So if you wish to buy British and support your local business there are plenty of us to choose from. Just saying!

Hydrangea Annabelle is a real favourite, giving us beautiful heads of creamy white flowers throughout the summer. Not good for drying though, unless you don’t mind shades of brown.
Wait until the last of the hard frosts before you trim them up for this season or risk the flower buds burning. They can be cut back hard to promote smaller flower heads and will benefit from a bit of thinning out every couple of years.
They can look fabulous in large terracotta pots gracing a long garden path. Gorgeous!

If you want to pick your own flower posies this summer then it’s time to start sowing! Daylight hours are improving, the sun has made an appearance and temperatures are forecast to remain mild for the foreseeable future, in Hampshire at least. Wash off those old seed trays, get in fresh compost and the freshest of seed and you’re away. Happy days!
