A little bit of slow stitching in my studio today. It’s raining and the sunflower trail is over and it’s very quiet so I decided to close the shop today.

It’s so nice picking pretty ribbons and lace to dress my little mice I’ve made ready for their debut in the shop next week. I’m enjoying working in my studio watching the much needed rain watering my garden.

The prettiest blue and white cabinet but it wasn’t like this when I found it at an antique fair last month. When I bought it this is how I imagined it looking. It needed a few repairs and I painted it with some Frenchic Wedding Cake, my go to white. The raised wood on the doors inspired me to paint them like delft tiles and then I add more roses to the pretty shaped top. The perfect place for a little blue and white teapot.

Wow so many new followers after posting photos of my Thelittlebrocante stand. Thank you so much. It’s lovely to read how much you loved it and definitely a confidence boost. The shop is CLOSED Monday and Tuesday this week while I catch up on making new stock.

My painted Vintage Bottles were so popular at the fair so I’ve been busy painting more of them. I use an enamel paint and them bake them in the lower oven of my AGA. I love photographing them with little snippets from my garden as you don’t have to pick loads to make a pretty display. These will be available in the shop on Wednesday.

All my flowers are from my garden Myprettybluehouse and I buy my seeds from The Hampshire Seed Co.. Jane has the most wonderful selection and all my favourite colours.

The trouble with emptying your shop to do a Brocante Fair is that you have to put it all back. The good thing is it gave me a chance to move things around and create some new displays.

Sunday was the loveliest day at Thelittlebrocante in Bruton Village. The setting and weather was perfect and it was amazing taking part with all the other amazing sellers.

I can’t believe how much I fit into my little van. It really is a Tardis. Luckily I didn’t have to bring it all home.

It was lovely to see some of my shop customers at the show and I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth the drive.

Thank you to everyone who visited my stand and for all your purchases. It was so nice to chat with everyone.

And finally a special thank you to Carmel, Carl and the team for putting on the most wonderful fair.

I’ll be in the shop Tuesday putting it back together.

Just a reminder that the shop is CLOSED Sunday. I shall be selling at the Little Brocante, Gladstone Hall , Burton Village. If you love everything French and shabby join me for a lovely day out. There will be 40 other sellers and the cricket pavilion will have lots of tea and cake too.

The shop this week. I shall be CLOSED Tuesday and Wednesday this week and on Sunday too as I will be selling at Thelittlebrocante fair.

The lovely vintage Little bo-peep statue is one of my latest finds and will be coming with me as well as lots of new painted furniture. This is such a beautiful fair full of wonderful sellers and I’m so excited to be part of it. Pop by if you fancy a lovely day out. There will be tea and cake !

The Ice Cream Parlour Sunflower and Maize Trail opens today at 10 am. I won’t be opening until 11 am.

I have some lovely sunflower themed things in including some handmade sunflower crowns for photographs and hand painted sunflower signs. ( the crocheted sunflowers are £3.95)

The shop doesn’t turn over enough now to get someone in so I will be closing 2 days a week. Not sure what they we be so check here if you are coming for the shop. I might close on rainy days, that’s if we get any.

I found this fabulous vintage wooden ladder at my last antique fair. It had the original green paint on it but was a bit too shabby even for me. I wanted to still keep the shabby look and some of the original colour so applied some Frenchic Paint ❤️ Crackle and then painted it with Frenchic Paint ❤️ Lazy Range Wedding Cake. The next step was a paint scraper and some rough sandpaper to let some of the original paint show through. I then added a few pretty French stencils to finish it off.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out and it would look fabulous in a garden room as a plant display. With it being wood I wouldn’t recommend it for outside.

You’ll find it in the shop this weekend as well as a few other new pieces of painted furniture and signs.
