Tonight I finished The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.

It was the last of my Women's Prize for Fiction shortlist reads and as fate would have it tonight is the night this beautiful book home.

This book is perfect. Absolutely perfect.

So much so I’m going to dry my eyes and read the last 30 pages or so again. Immediately.

I cant wait to share some of my favourite quotes from this with you all.

I’m not usually an audiobook girly.

Not because I’m snobbish about it but because I can’t always make my brain stop making lists of the 20 million things I should be doing or still have to do.

But this one was different.

My cousins Becky was adamant I needed to listen to it. Adamant.

So I did.

I what I thought was 90 minutes sitting crocheting was actually a solid 7 hours.

I kid you not!

I know it’s a bookshop. I know I should be advocating for physical books. But Becky knows what she’s talking about. This is a MUST LISTEN.

Narrated by the author himself it is brilliant. Just polite dead brilliant. I laughed out loud. I shed a few tears.

An added bonus was that my Amazon Music does a free audiobook a month. Who knew?

And the icing on the cake - Graeme’s new book came out in the last week and promises more caffeine overload tonic wine brilliance!

Now to read? Or to wait for the audiobook?
