Controversial things my business isn’t doing right now that other businesses seem to love …
1. Using AI for customer care & marketing
2. Gifting products to influencers and running paid ads
3. Cutting costs by reducing packaging & product quality
4. Spamming you with emails
5. Opening the shop 7 days a week 9-5
6. Pushy sales tactics

Lately I’ve found myself being really critical of the pace we work at, catching myself saying “but they waited too long for me to reply to their message” and it got me thinking if/how we could be faster paced and I honestly don’t like the options. I reckon my customers would rather wait a couple of days and get an email back from me - a real person who cares - than being stuck in an annoying chat bot loop where they can’t resolve their issue. So it got me thinking that maybes the goal isn’t speed, it’s not competing with big companies, because we aren’t Amazon after all (though I do actually manage to dispatch within competitive times to them) and maybes the goal is in fact - to just be worth waiting for 🩷
