We’re so excited to be topping our Mr Whippy with our very own Coquet Confectioners logo wafers, made by the brilliant team at Brio Desserts in Bedlington. We think they finish them off perfectly!

This week’s shoutout goes to Jack’s Furniture Warehouse & Emporium in Amble! ❤️

If you love vintage, antique, retro or upcycled furniture, this place is an absolute treasure trove. Every visit is different, with unique pieces full of character that you simply won’t find on the high street.

Whether you’re looking for a statement piece, a beautifully restored classic, or just fancy a browse, it’s well worth a visit. The warehouse is packed with hidden gems, and the team are always welcoming, knowledgeable and happy to help.

They’re also dog friendly 🐶, with customer parking available, making it an easy place to spend an hour (or two!) hunting for your next favourite find.

Giving back to our community 💙☕

We were delighted to donate one of our sweet gift boxes to help raise funds for Parkinson’s UK at the upcoming SAIF President’s National Coffee Morning, organised by William Purves Funeral Directors.

We hope it helps raise plenty of money for such a fantastic cause, and we’d like to wish everyone involved a wonderful morning filled with coffee, cake and great company.

If you’re free on Thursday 6th August, 10am–12pm at St Cuthbert’s Church Hall, Amble, why not pop along and show your support? Every little bit helps. 💙

Did you know liquorice wasn’t originally created as a sweet?

Hundreds of years ago, liquorice root was chewed for its soothing properties and was commonly used to help ease sore throats and coughs. It wasn’t until much later that confectioners began turning it into the delicious liquorice sweets we know and love today!

From traditional liquorice torpedoes and Pontefract Cakes to strawberry liquorice lances, it’s amazing how one humble root has inspired so many favourites over the years.

If you’re a dog owner, this is definitely a small business worth checking out. They handmake beautiful collars, leads, bow ties, bandanas and accessories, all with quality and care. Whether your pup loves bright patterns or classic designs, there’s something to suit every four-legged friend.

You’ll also find them at local markets with a fantastic selection of natural dog treats, making their stall well worth a visit.

One thing we especially love is their generosity. They regularly support Northumberland Dog Rescue, donating beautiful collars, bandanas and bow ties to help rescue dogs look their very best while they wait for their forever homes. 🐾❤️
