I've just added a huge number of products to the clearance section, with almost everything reduced to below cost price!

You know I never run sales, but after doing a proper stock check I had to admit to myself that I’m simply holding too much stuff.

Buying niche photography products is always a bit of a guessing game. How many should I order? Which colours and sizes will people want?

I can only hope I get better at it over time, but there will still be occasional mistake (my failure is your bargain!). I’ve ended up with more stock than makes sense for me to keep holding.

So I’m trimming a number of ranges down and clearing out products and variations that have been sitting on the shelves for too long.

Once some of these are gone, I probably won’t be replacing them which means a few gone forever, and some items (like niche HoldFast Gear size/colour combos) will become special order items with a reduced permanently available range.

Just a quick reminder that this weekend is a Bank Holiday in England, which means no orders will be dispatched or delivered on Monday.

If you would like something to arrive in time for the weekend or if you need something next week please plan your orders around that!

I will also be off on Monday (there's not much point me being in the office if no orders will be collected) so any enquiries on Monday will be dealt with on Tuesday.

An absolutely fantastic review from Mike of his new MoneyMaker dual camera harness. Obviously I'm always happy to receive a 5 star review, but this one is particularly good because Mike didn't review straight away, he's tried out the harness a few times so he can give other potential buyers more insight into what they're getting. It's World Photography Day!

Obviously, photography means a lot to me. I've built my life around it with Rigu, but ironically that means I mostly spend my time helping other people take photos by improving their workflow with a better camera strap, or shooting something interesting with a creative effect filter.

Last month I was at my cousin's wedding in Norway, and whilst they just asked me to "bring a camera for people to use" I went a bit further than that as you can see! It was a good reminder of how much I enjoy taking photos, especially after seeing my cousin and his wife so happy with the results.

This is a great review that sums up why I made these Magnetic Filter Adapters in the first place; I wanted people to be able to get more out of what they already owned, instead of having to buy a whole new set of magnetic camera filters.

EU orders are currently suspended after the new PPWR regulations have come into force related to reducing packaging waste and making businesses more responsible for the kinds of packaging they use.

The vast majority of Rigu's packaging is easily recyclable cardboard or paper (the only times I use plastic I'm actually reusing other companies filler/packaging), so that's not an issue, but the compliance costs make it unviable at the moment.

I would be required to register for the scheme (and pay for an authorised representative) in every individual country that I send even a single package to. This can run to hundreds of Euros for a single country, so you can see how this isn't feasible for a lot of small businesses.

For clarity, whilst Northern Ireland is sometimes considered part of the the EU for regulations (like with the GPSR regulations I put considerable time and expense into last year), they are not impacted by this, so I can continue sending packages to Northern Ireland as normal.

A fresh batch of Spektrem Effects filters has arrived here in the Lake District from designer and maker Brandon Aguilar in Chicago.

These unusual creative filters are handmade in small batches and designed to produce flare, colour, blur and distortion directly in camera.

The latest restock includes returning favourites such as RainbowBurst, Just Another Blur, and 7C, plus the wonderfully strange Warp filter is now available with a 77mm filter thread for the first time.

I'm back from my trip to Norway for a wedding, and all of the orders from whilst I was away were sent out yesterday so we should be back to Rigu normal speedy dispatch times for the foreseeable future.
