Drought !!!

Parched ground
drooping trees
Birds shade
and barring grass
blades bend
in search of drink.
hosepipes banned
backs now creak
as buckets now carried
to quench flora's thirst.

Grounds now barren
rains stop their fall.

Children wade
in rivers and streams
Adults shade
where sun-rays do not reach.
Drought continues
fires ablaze
water now low
wild fires aglow.

Litter afloat
where waters once flowed
Temperature climbs
as climate change soars.
Take heed.
Act now...
soothe nature's sores
as droughts cause harm
and floods strip earth's core

then drought no more!
