Another day, another scarf! This is from my 2022 Summer Wool Festival haul. The photo doesn't do the colours justice but I'll put another photo up after wet finishing.

Hem stitching is on hold at present as my hooks are at the prosthetics workshop being relined. The current lining is stinky from sweat after 6 years of use.

Fresh off my loom, this scarf from yarns bought two years ago at the Summer Wool Festival . The yarns came from Clare Atfield and Blue Fern Yarns and wove beautifully; I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Now I "just" have to hem stitch and knot the warp ends - possibly the most challenging parts for this quadruple amputee!

We’re very happy to let you know that our second-hand magazines stall at Summer Wool Festival raised £639 for Keech Hospice. That's a fantastic amount! A very big thank you to everyone who donated their magazines and books and to everyone who bought from the stall. Well done to everybody, it's a great amount to donate!

Here's my recent wool haul!
The brown hanks and the grey and white wool in the centre were my locally produced Yorkshire Moors souvenirs, bought from -Felt-and-Fleece.
The rest was from the Summer Wool Festival : two lots of wool batting from a lovely Saori loom weaver I enjoyed chatting to, Illuminating Weaves ; sapphire blue and emerald green banana fibre and black sari silk from the Wonky Weaver ; three green 4 ply skeins from a stall in the guild room and a rainbow of DK skeins for some rainbow scarves from Wooltops

Last weekend saw the Summer Wool Festival in Ampthill. I have been going to this wonderful event for several years now and this year was recognised by a number of the stallholders, as well as meeting friends from the Bedfordshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers (and getting help and advice from them). I bought some lovely yarns but my most exciting purchase was a new loom from the extremely knowledgeable and helpful Wonky Weaver .
This is a Louet Jane and will take me into the exciting realms of shaft weaving, allowing me to create patterned fabric. It will be a while before I have it up and running; it needs assembling first, then warping - which looks complicated. But I have a book full of patterns; there are videos online and I look forward to getting going.

Special mention for Elizabeth who brought in this AMAZING saga of knitting to show me 🥰

I’ve forgotten what the pattern’s called (I’m sure she’ll remind me when she sees this) but it’s a full circle version of a Stephen West one, and the yarns are Titus 4ply and Eldwick Lace. It’s epic isn’t it!!
