73 BOOK Days Till Christmas 🎅 📚

With Halloween just around the corner what better than to delve into the wonderful world of Monsters!

So our book for today is

The World of the Unknown: Monsters

This cult classic delves into mysteries such as whether the Loch Ness monster exists, and tells stories of dragons and monsters from around the world. It also looks at some of the most frightening creations of myth and legend. First published in 1977, this is the third book from Usborne's beloved World of the Unknown series to be brought back by popular demand. With a brand-new foreword by comedian, actor and writer Robin Ince, the book remains otherwise unchanged from the original.

74 BOOK Days Till Christmas 🎅 📚

IT’S NATIONAL FARMERS DAY 🚜 🐄 🐑 🐖 🌾

So here is one of our favourite farm books!

Poppy and Sam's Farm Animal Sounds

Join Poppy and Sam for a tour of Apple Tree Farm and all of its noisy animals. There's a different animal to hear on each double-page, including Woolly the Sheep, Curly the Pig and Clucky the Hen. At the end, all the farm animals make their noises together. And, of course, the famous little yellow duck is hiding somewhere in each picture.

This was a hard choice because there are so many. Our link will be to a selection of farm books!

76 BOOK Days Till Christmas 🎅 📚

Mummy picked todays book from the Young Adults range!

The Gilded Ones

The must-read new bold and immersive West African-inspired fantasy series. In this world, girls are outcasts by blood and warriors by choice.

Sixteen-year-old Deka lives in Otera, a deeply patriarchal ancient kingdom, where a woman's worth is tied to her purity, and she must bleed to prove it. But when Deka bleeds gold - the colour of impurity, of a demon - she faces a consequence worse than death. She is saved by a mysterious woman who tells Deka of her true nature: she is an Alaki, a near-immortal with exceptional gifts. The stranger offers her a choice: fight for the Emperor, with others just like her, or be destroyed...
