Great night at The Appleby Hub late night cafe & shop opening, vibrant exhibition “Sisterhood” by Love Art Workshops Lana Grindley (she’s back for workshop in September). Artists Christine Rose & Steve Taylor were here too chatting about their art.

Just a few things happening soon:

Tuesday 28 is our Men’s Cafe 10-1.30pm where you can come & chat, browse the books, play board games or dominoes or join in making Swift Boxes.

At 1.30pm the session is opened up to everyone to come & enjoy a talk on swifts and boxes will be available to take away.

On Friday 31st July we have our late night opening - the menu looks scrumptious! This month we have the whole Hub open - an exhibition upstairs, Steve Taylor’s Art Studio is open, Christine Rose is in the shop with her woodblocks - you can meet the artists and have a go as well as browse our shop, stocked with lots of lovely makes from local artisans.

You need to book the cafe for a table if you want to eat otherwise everything is free!

Thanks to Bells from The Alchemist's Satchel for making The Appleby Hub smell gorgeous.
We had a candle workshop and our ladies created their signature scents then chose three to add to their trio of candles. Bells shared her knowledge and they are away on their candle making journey to make many more!

The shop smells gorgeous thanks to The Alchemist's Satchel - not only can you buy in the shop but we are running an Evening Workshop on Friday 10 July in the cafe area - come along and enjoy a glass of fizz before learning, building & creating your own scents from essential oils then learn to wick, mix and pour your own candles, using up to 3 of your own scents.

Thanks to Gillian of for coming to our Thoughtful Tuesday and showing us how to make these cute bears from clay.

Next Tuesday is for all carers, Claire from Westmorland and Furness Libraries will be there to share all that your local library can offer, Appleby Memory Club, Upper Eden Linking Lives are also with us & is visiting to make needlefelted brooches.
