We are delighted to announce that artist and illustrator Sandra Izard , will be our next Artist-in-Residence, following in the footsteps of previous Artists-in-Residence Sue England , jo dowers artist , and Oscar Romp . Sandra is based in Slindon, and her work is deeply rooted in the landscape of the South Downs, the intimate world of the local pond, and her garden. Sandra works across mixed media, allowing each subject to determine its materials and process.

Influenced by artists such as Ivon Hitchens and Peter Iden, her work reflects a profound sense of place, balancing abstraction and representation. Renowned particularly for her watercolours, Sandra’s work has been widely exhibited, including a recent solo exhibition at the Oxmarket Gallery in Chichester, and is held in private collections internationally. Commissions include work for the National Trust and illustration for a children’s book. You can read more about Sandra on our News and Blog page at denmans.org.
We can’t wait to see the Garden through Sandra’s eyes! Above is her painting of blue iris she bought at Denmans and that now grows in her garden - it was included in this year’s “Say it with Flowers” exhibition at Oxmarket Contemporary ARTEL Contempoary Art
