Why are leaves such a timeless symbol in jewellery?
Leaves have inspired jewellers for centuries, and it's easy to see why.
They represent the changing seasons, growth, renewal and our connection to the natural world. Each spring they emerge full of promise, flourish through summer, transform into rich autumn colours and eventually return to the earth—only to begin the cycle again.
Wearing a leaf is often seen as a symbol of new beginnings, hope, and personal growth. It can remind us that change is a natural part of life and that beauty can be found in every stage of the journey.
For me, leaves are also a celebration of the countryside. Living and working close to the South Downs and Sussex coast, I'm constantly inspired by the hedgerows, woodland paths and the intricate forms that nature creates. No two leaves are ever quite the same, and that's reflected in my jewellery too. Every piece is individually handmade, making each one as unique as the leaf that inspired it.
Nature has an effortless way of creating perfect design. As a jeweller, I simply reinterpret it in precious metal.
Which leaf would you choose? An elegant oak, a delicate fern, a graceful beech, or something inspired by the wild hedgerows?
