Thinking bigger for your bathroom? Here are 3 things to know before choosing large format tiles…
1. Bigger doesn’t always mean “only for big bathrooms”.
Large tiles can actually make a smaller bathroom feel more spacious because fewer grout lines create a cleaner, more continuous look. Try carrying the same tile from the floor up the shower wall for maximum impact.
2. Think about the direction you lay them.
A 60×120cm tile laid lengthways can help draw the eye along a room, while laying it across a narrow space can make it feel wider. Small detail, big difference.
3. Don’t choose purely on looks.
For bathroom floors, check the tile is suitable for floor use and has the right slip rating. And remember that large format tiles need careful planning, preparation and skilled installation.
One more tip? Always look at a sample in your actual bathroom. Light, room proportions and surrounding colours can completely change how a tile looks.
