We had some much fun at our doorstop workshop yesterday! It was the perfect rainy day activity ☔️🪡

Our workshop ladies did an absolutely brilliant job and made some absolutely stunning products 🤩

Well… we only went and did it! ❤️✂️

The Betty’s girls took to the catwalk for Ashbourne Fashion Day Out, wearing outfits made entirely by the people modelling them. Nothing was for sale. Every stitch, swish and slightly frantic last-minute adjustment was handmade by us.

From sketchbook to catwalk, tiny models to beautiful brides, and of course, ten metres of burgundy chiffon threatening to swallow me whole.

Huge thanks to Hannah for holding the whole show together, Kristian Wood for the fabulous hair, everyone who helped behind the scenes, and the wonderful Ashbourne crowd for cheering us on.

I’m not taking the boa off. Ever.

Who’s excited for this year’s big fashion day out? We know we are 🙋‍♀️

On September 6th we’ll be taking on the runway to show off some of our fabulous designs and we would love for you all to be there!

Ashbourne Fashion Day Out is back in just a couple of weeks and we’re very excited to be taking part again!

Also joining us on the red carpet will be the lovely Caz from The Great British Sewing Bee, which is very exciting.

Betty’s will be in the second fashion show, alongside lots of our friends from the other independent shops in Ashbourne. We’ve all been busy sewing and putting together some suitably funky outfits.
It was brilliant fun last year and I know it will be again, so do come along, support us and give us a cheer!

What a gloriously colourful day we had at Betty’s with our visiting artist, exploring the rather magical world of alcohol inks.

The inks flow, blend and wander about with minds of their own, before being transformed into the most beautiful floral pictures. No two pieces could ever be exactly alike, which is part of the fun.

There was plenty of experimenting, lots of gorgeous colour and, naturally, a proper Betty’s helping of tea and cake.

Thank you to everyone who came along and created such beautiful work. Would you fancy having a go at alcohol ink art? 💐🎨
