Over the past few days, we’ve had the opportunity to take some lovely photographs of this magnificent landmark, but the truth is that no camera can truly capture its scale, beauty, and presence. 📸

Ely Cathedral is one of those places you simply have to experience in person to fully appreciate. From its stunning architecture to the incredible craftsmanship that has stood the test of time, it’s a building that leaves a lasting impression.

A wonderful start to the Home & Garden Show here in Ely!

With the magnificent Ely Cathedral watching over the city, it’s hard not to stop and admire just how beautiful it is. Its stunning architecture and timeless presence make it a real feast for the eyes and the perfect backdrop for a fantastic day.

As the first session of the day draws to a close, I’d like to thank everyone who has stopped by to say hello and admire my handmade creations.

Its been a great start to the show today and I’m looking forward to the evening session ahead. While I don’t often do evening events, they’re actually the perfect opportunity to showcase my handmade industrial style lighting. As the daylight fades and the ambient lighting comes to life, the details of each handmade piece can be appreciated.

🔥 Commission Project Spotlight 🔥

Here’s a look at one of our latest bespoke commissions currently underway at Metal Manipulation. 🇬🇧

This handcrafted staircase handrail has been designed and fabricated entirely to the client’s specification, featuring heavy decorative scrolling, custom detailing, and unique design elements that make it truly one of a kind.

One of the most important parts of a project like this is ensuring the finished piece looks like it has always belonged there. Every measurement, curve, and feature has been carefully designed to fit the existing brick staircase perfectly, complementing the property while providing strength, safety, and timeless character.

At Metal Manipulation, we don’t believe in off-the-shelf solutions. Every commission is individually designed and handmade to suit the customer’s vision, property, and requirements.

This is just one of many exciting projects we’ll be sharing over the coming weeks, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship, creativity, and custom metalwork we’re working on.

WOW... WHERE DO WE EVEN BEGIN?

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has supported Metal Manipulation.

To our incredible customers, family, friends, followers, supporters, event organisers, fellow traders, and everyone who has shared our work, recommended us, liked a post, stopped by for a chat, purchased a piece, or simply believed in what we do — thank you.

What started as a passion for creating unique handmade metalwork has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined, and none of it would have been possible without your kindness, encouragement, trust, and support.

Because of you, we are incredibly proud to announce that Metal Manipulation is now FULLY BOOKED for large commission projects for the remainder of this year. In fact, demand has been so overwhelming that we have already opened our 2027 commission diary and are now taking bookings for next year.

This is something we never take for granted. Every commission, every order, and every conversation means the world to us.

While our large commission schedule is now full, we do still have limited availability for smaller handmade pieces, including our signature lamps and other bespoke creations. Spaces are extremely limited, so if you’ve been thinking about having something made by us, please don’t leave it too long to get in touch.

We’d also like to make everyone aware that due to the size and complexity of the commissions we’re currently working on, along with the many shows, exhibitions, events, and off-site projects we attend throughout the year, we are not always at the workshop or showroom.

The showroom is generally only open on days when we are working on specific commissions at the workshop, and there are many occasions when we are out on-site, meeting clients, installing projects, attending events, or showcasing our work elsewhere.

If you’re planning a special journey to come and visit us, please make sure you contact us beforehand. We’d hate for anyone to make the trip only to find we’re away working on one of our projects or attending one of our shows.

The growth of Metal Manipulation has brought some amazing opportunities, and while it means we’re busier than ever, we’re committed to continuing to create the unique handcrafted pieces that you’ve come to know and love.

✨ We’re excited to announce that we’ll be exhibiting a specially selected collection of our work at the very first Artisan Fair at the beautiful Mercia Marina ⚓🎪

🎨 Artists from the Artisan Guild will be showcasing an incredible range of handcrafted work in this unique waterfront setting.

⛓️ We’ll be bringing along our signature chain work, alongside some of our most popular garden ornaments 🌿 and gifts 🎁.

🎶 With live music, fantastic shopping around the marina 🛍️, and plenty of delicious food and drinks 🍰🍷 to enjoy, it promises to be a wonderful day out — come and see us! ✨

Garden Privacy Screening. 🍂

A challenging install, but this commission piece is finally starting to come together beautifully. 😀

Due to the position of the screening, this one has definitely tested us during installation — but seeing it all take shape makes it worth every bit of effort.

The design features panelled sections with a detailed oak 🌳tree cut-out at the centre, finished with additional fabricated leaves to create the effect of them blowing away in the wind. 🌬️ Every element has been carefully crafted to give the piece movement and depth while still providing privacy screening.

To complete the look and ensure long-lasting durability, the entire piece has been finished in a protective bronze powder coating.

We’re looking forward to showing the finished result once everything is fully installed.

What an incredible weekend at Living Crafts!

A huge thank you to the new organisers for putting together such a fantastic event. From our perspective as exhibitors, we could truly see the amount of hard work, dedication, and passion that went into making everything run so smoothly — and it really showed. We loved every moment of being part of it.

Thank you as well to everyone who came to visit us over the weekend. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, meet new people, and share what we love to create here at Metal Manipulation. Your support, conversations, and encouragement mean so much to us.

And of course, a special thank you to Hatfield House for providing such an absolutely stunning setting for the event. It really is a beautiful location and made the whole experience even more special.
