I have always loved arts and crafts! As a little girl, I loved to draw and as I got older I tried to have at least one creative and crafty project a year around my day job (such as painting pumpkins, découpaging advent calendars, making Christmas stockings and many more!). Whilst heavily pregnant and nesting during lockdown, I turned to craft to keep me relaxed and to come up with something specia

l and unique for my little one's nursery. I decided to try my hand at punch needle embroidery and bought a kit and away I went. Before long, I was hooked and even after Leo's arrival, I found myself sketching out designs and making more hoops during nap times. Not content with confining myself to creating characters for his safari-themed nursery, I carried on creating more designs and started making hoops for friends and family and then decided to set up Flossie & Bean. You may be wondering where the name Flossie & Bean comes from, well... "Flossie" is my husband's nickname for me and from the moment we saw Leo on our first scan, we have called him "our little bean"! I hope that my creations bring a little bit of joy to those who receive them. Thank you for reading!

Hi, I’m Katie and I love teaching people how to punch needle 🧶✨

I’ve had a little break from workshops (and socials!) whilst I celebrated my birthday, but I’m back!

There are just a handful of spaces left on my remaining Summer workshops and I’ve also just released the first set of Autumn dates on my website 🍁🎃🍄

These were really popular last year, so if you’d like to join us, I’d recommend booking early. I have to keep numbers capped as I finish every keyring/decoration myself at the end of each workshop and I hate having to turn people away!

Come and have a go, learn something new and spend a couple of lovely hours crafting with me 🥰

Dates & booking via the link in my bio (I’ll add to my stories too).

Our honest review of LEGOLAND on a Saturday in the summer holidays... 👀

I was expecting to spend the whole day queuing, but we were pleasantly surprised!

We arrived for opening and the morning was brilliant. Leo made a beeline for Speedway while Freddie (under 90cm) still had plenty to enjoy, including the DUPLO train, Fairytale Brook and the carousel teacups, with most queues under 5 minutes.

We packed a picnic this time (much easier with Freddie’s allergies) but treated ourselves to ice creams (which required a remortgage!).

Our biggest disappointment was queuing 20 minutes for Flight of Sky Lion, only for it to break down just before we reached the front. We didn’t fancy joining the 40 minute queue later, so gave it a miss.

Leo also loved The Dragon, the Log Flume and Merlin’s Challenge. As for the new Pokémon experience, the boys enjoyed it but the organisation felt quite slow (we queued for a good while despite the app saying no queue) and the experience itself was over very quickly... although the interactive Pokemon toy has made it onto Leo’s Christmas list (so the sales pitch obvs worked)! 🙈

There was still loads we didn’t get around to, but with two little boys on a hot day we were happy to take things at their pace rather than trying to do everything.

Overall, we had such a lovely day with the grandparents. A few niggles, but the boys had an amazing time, and that’s what mattered most.

Top tip: Get there for opening time—it made a huge difference for us!

These are some of my original Christmas decorations that have been coming back year after year because, thankfully, you still seem to love them just as much as I do ♥️

The OG Rudolph will always have a special place in my heart (and a few of you have already been quick enough to snap him up this year! 🦌).

If you’ve had your eye on one of these classic designs, now’s the perfect time. They’re all included in my Christmas in July event, with discounted prices until Friday as a little thank you for shopping early.
