How gorgeous is this cotton?!😍

A lovely soft, yarn-dyed woven cotton with a fabulous little geometric design. It’s got just the right amount of weight for autumn and winter sewing, making it a wonderfully versatile choice for so many dressmaking projects😊

I’m thinking blouses, dresses, skirts and relaxed trousers. So many possibilities!

Available in three gorgeous shades: Navy, Burgundy and Red. All rather lovely for this time of year!

I’ve added a few inspiration photos to get those sewing ideas flowing! Please note though that the scale in the 2 of the inspo pictures isn’t quite to scale - refer to the fabric photos for scale.

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱…

As you’ll see from the post, I’ll be closing the shop floor at 𝟯.𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 and we’ll then be 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆.

Anyone who knows me will know how much The Fabric Boutique means to me and how hard I work at it, but every now and again family has to come first. I have a family event this weekend that I really don’t want to miss, and unfortunately with no one available to cover the shop floor, it does mean closing for the day.

I’m very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s certainly not something I make a habit of, but occasionally it’s just the reality of running a small business.

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘅 𝗣𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹. The studio will be open as usual, and there are still a few places available on Saturday’s workshop too, so it’s not too late to join us. You can book your place through the website.

Of course, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀! You can shop online all weekend, with orders dispatched when I’m back next week. If you’re local, you can choose Click & Collect and collect from Tuesday.

Brown, Burgundy or Red…which would you choose?🤎❤️💗

I love the texture of these fabrics! That gentle crinkle with the contrast stripe woven throughout, just gives them that little bit of something extra!

They’ve got enough structure to hold their shape beautifully too. I’m thinking dresses, shirts, blouses…or how fabulous would a pair of barrel leg trousers be? Team with a cosy jumper for Winter or layer up with a co-ord shirt…

Why not start your Dressmakers’ Ball weekend with a visit to us? We’re right in the centre of Ashby at Rushton’s Yard, so pop in, say hello, have a browse and perhaps treat yourself to something lovely before carrying on to Leicester!

🎀Bows & Blooms Cotton Double Gauze🎀

This beautiful double gauze feels absolutely perfect for autumn and winter. It’s lightweight and breathable, but the double-layered construction gives it that lovely soft, squidgy, snuggly feel that makes it surprisingly cosy too🥰

The pale cream background with fresh grass green, burgundy w**e and soft pink is gorgeous, and those dainty little bows are so on trend at the moment!🎀

What I really love about this fabric is just how versatile it is. From newborn babies right through to grown-ups, it’s wonderfully soft against the skin and would make gorgeous rompers and little dresses, but equally lovely shirts, blouses, tops and relaxed dresses for adults. Think nightwear too!😊

🍂Double gauze for autumn? Absolutely!
Our gorgeous new yarn-dyed cotton double gauzes have arrived in three beautiful colour combinations:

• Brown & Navy
• Pink & Burgundy
• Blue & Brown

Soft and cosy against the skin, with that lovely gently crinkled texture that makes double gauze so comfortable to wear, these are such a lovely choice for autumn and winter sewing

Even better, they’re reversible! You have a larger gingham check on one side and a smaller check on the reverse, so there’s lots of scope to mix and match the two within the same garment. Imagine a shirt using the larger check for the main body with the smaller check for a pocket, cuffs or collar, or even mixing the two across different panels or sleeves.

Think relaxed blouses and tops with jeans, casual skirts, or a dress layered up with tights, boots and your favourite cardigan. They’re beautifully soft for children’s clothes too!🥰
