Following recent government announcements, risk assessment have been undertaken regarding our outdoor market facilities and social distancing guidelines. As a result the following steps will be taken:
✔️ Wigan outdoor market will reopen to the public on Monday 1 June.
✔️ Leigh outdoor market and Ashton-in-Makerfield market will not be opening to the public week commencing 1 June.
✔️ These sites do not currently currently allow social distancing guidance to be maintained safely, traders will be informed of any updates. The situation will continue to be under review.
✔️ Further updates about Wigan and Leigh indoor markets will be shared next week.

We've extended the deadline for our VE Day Cookery Competition!

Snap a photo of a meal you have made with 5 ingredients or less and send it to us before the end of Sunday 10th May to be in with a chance of winning £50 in supermarket vouchers!

How to enter:
➡️ Create a homemade dish using five or less ingredients
➡️ Take a photo of your finished dish and email it to [email protected] between 28th April and 10th May, along with the dish name, ingredients used, your name, address and age
➡️ Photos will then be posted on Facebook at 11th May, 2pm for voting
➡️ Voting will close at 11am, 13th May
➡️ Winner/runners-up will be selected from the greatest number of likes/loves on the photographs posted
➡️ Winner/runners-up will be contacted by email and then announced on Facebook
➡️ Competition prizes = supermarket vouchers:

There's still time to enter our VE Day Cookery Competition and win £50 worth of vouchers for your favourite supermarket!

To celebrate the anniversary of VE Day, we want the budding chefs in the borough to think creatively and come up with a meal using 5 ingredients or less. You could adapt one of your favourite homemade meals or desserts or you could even try and recreate a wartime recipe from ingredients you already have in your kitchen cupboards.
