Congratulations to all the Wainwright Prize shortlist authors. We’re so lucky here in Aviemore to be surrounded by so much beautiful wildlife and nature, and the nature section is such a popular part of our wee shop.
There are some truly remarkable books on the shortlist this year, helping inspire both seasoned enthusiasts and a new generation of nature lovers.

It is nice weather for ducks today!
Luckily we’ve got lots of entertainment along side many beautiful books to read. So if you’re got smalls (or bigs!) to find fun for, there are puzzles, colouring books and toys aplenty, as well as our fantastic children’s book of the month, Starbreakers.

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Charlie Bingham into the shop today for a very special event. We went for a beautiful walk to Craigellachie Nature Reserve for some questions about her book, The Life-Affirming Magic of Birds, and beautiful reading and a short bird watching walk. Then back to the shop for amazing cakes from The Coffee Pot (thanks so much to them - they were incredible!) and book signings. Thanks so much to Charlie and all who attended.

We have a few signed copies left over if you couldn’t make it.

Our book signing and nature walk event with Charlie Bingham, author of 'The Life-Affirming Magic of Birds' is just days away!

Charlie will be running a guided nature walk and book reading at the Craigellachie nature reserve on Friday 24th July at 2pm, followed by tea and cake, and a book signing back at the shop.

The last few tickets to this special event are now available and so grab yours and join us in Aviemore this Friday!
