Ever feel like you’re constantly trying to balance everything… work, home, family, and still finding a little bit of time for YOU? 💕

📚 Do books, stories and helping children discover a love of reading make you smile?

For 14 years I was a teacher — a job I genuinely loved. But there came a point where I knew I needed something that worked better around my family life.

I wasn’t looking to walk away from what I cared about… I was looking for more balance, more flexibility and something that still gave me purpose.

Was it scary trying something new?
Absolutely.

Did I wonder if I could actually do it?
Definitely!

But becoming an Independent Usborne Partner has given me the chance to…

A little while ago, if you'd told me that books would completely change the direction of my career, I don't think I'd have believed you.

Like so many people, I was looking for something that gave me more than just an income. I wanted flexibility. I wanted to be present for my family. I wanted to build something that worked around our lives instead of constantly feeling like I had to choose between work and the moments that matter most.

Today, I'm so proud to say that I've achieved a goal I've been working towards... I'm officially an Usborne Team Leader. 💙📚

This isn't just my achievement though.

This milestone was only possible because of the incredible people I get to call Team Ubuntu. To every single one of you—thank you. Your dedication, consistency, hard work, and belief in what we're building together helped us achieve the volume needed for this promotion. Every event, every order, every conversation, and every little step added up to something amazing. Watching each of you grow has been one of the greatest privileges, and I couldn't be prouder of the team we've become.

I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to my wonderful mentor, Vikki. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, sharing your knowledge so generously, and reminding me what was possible—even on the days I doubted myself. Your support has meant more than you'll ever know.

This journey has given me so much more than a new title. It's given me confidence, friendships, purpose, and the freedom to build a career that fits around my family instead of taking me away from them. Being able to earn while still being there for school events, bedtime stories, and all the little moments in between is something I'll never take for granted.

To everyone who's bought books, hosted an event, recommended me, supported my business, or simply cheered me on—thank you. You've all played a part in this story.

This chapter feels incredibly special, but I know it's only the beginning.

Here's to Team Ubuntu, to the next adventure, and to showing what's possible when people lift each other up. 💙✨

One of the things I love most about this job is the flexibility.

I don't put my life on hold to do it.

I fit it around school, family, work, and everything else that matters.

A few conversations during the day.
Sharing books I love.
Packing orders in little pockets of time.
Joining events when it works for me.

No pressure. No clocking in.

Just small actions that fit into real life.
