A really nice set of 5 35mm film strips in a nice chunky acrylic frame.

Really rare strips as they're from a really short teaser trailer shown in cinemas.

The beauty of these frames is that you can just pull them apart and put new strips in from another movie and I'll always work with you to customise a bundle of cells or strips

Really happy with some new acrylic frames that have arrived for putting 35mm film strips in, they're big. Chunky and weigh maybe half a kilo, possibly more?

5" x 7" with each half around 1 centimetre thick.

I like these because of the possibilities, fit 4 or 5 strips across or 3 strips of 9 the opposite way.

I'm all about versatility when I sell, so maybe you don't fancy Superman cells today and have a Batman fan coming round, just pull the two halves of the frame apart and swap them out.

They're a lot more expensive than the other frames I buy but I'm not trying to sell frames, I'm selling 35mm movie history, I'm just showing you the possibilities!

I sell lots and lots of strips of cells and can customise an order for you so that you can make your own display up from your favourite, movies, actors or characters.

Got bored today so decided to make a couple more coasters with the hopes of eventually getting them up for sale in either my eBay or Etsy shops.

Mixed thoughts on the results for me though on the coasters made.

1. The coasters are acrylic so even brand new they all seem to have tiny blemishes or scratches, same when I'm putting cells into keyrings.

2. If the film strips still have a curve on them they can stop the two parts of the coasters clipping together properly, which I thought I'd remedy with a spot of glue, however I was a bit heavy handed when I dropped glue onto the corners and I don't like the marks.

Generally the cutting to size itself isn't too much of an issue.

As customers what price would you actually be happy to pay for something like this? especially if it is custom made, which is eventually the route i'd like to go down, you choose the movie, I'd give a selection of strips for you to choose from and then if cut and put together(just not as much glue in the corners).

The Coraline I'll use something much smaller to add glue and The Simpsons Movie one will probably go free to a new order, I hate it but someone else might like it

Any Scream fans out there?

The cells are mounted into a universal glass slide mount which just clip together to keep the cells safe.

What I like to do next is pop them into little cellophane floating frames which are not only cheap but great for just swapping your different cells over, Scream at Halloween or maybe Polar express for Christmas!!

A nice big Superman Returns cell bundle up today!!

This is a nice bundle of cells cut from a reel to take cells for my personal collection. These cells were cut from a genuine trailer reel and shown prior to the movies release and I was lucky enough to pick up this reel that is for the original film release, so a genuine piece of movie history.

What to do?

When I get a reel I'll generally go through it and collect certain cells for myself for my own collection, however I'll only take cells from certain scenes that I loved but this leaves me with a small problem!

Each second of 35mm film equates to 24 cells, most reels are around between 60 seconds to 150 seconds long meaning an average 2 minute reel is going to have 2880 cells, for myself I take between 20-50 cells probably and the rest I sell in my stores.

I sell in bundles of single cells and strips of 5 cells, mostly loaded into top loaders for safety and ease of storage. However as you can see in the photos I'm quite often left with little off cuts.

I could sell these and a lot of the live auctions I watch from the US do sell these in little bundles but I work full time and this extra hobby takes up a lot of time, in a future post when a new reel comes in I may go through the process.

So what to do with these extras? It would take to long to list and generally I like to sell strips of 5 as they're better for collecting/framing/mounting.

Well when I have a few more followers I'm thinking I'll run a little competition for people that like, leave a comment and share and give some of these extras away via a random generator.

This would only be available to the UK at the moment as I'd be covering P&P.

Sooo

At the moment I'm trying to grow my page and small business.

I sell old comics and 35mm film, the comics I'm stepping down from as I just don't have the room.

My real passion at the moment is 35mm film that was shown at the cinemas and it started from just wanting to collect movie cells that my wife and I had seen that brought back memories from years past, so I brought a slide projector and the idea was that I'd buy cells and keep a couple to project and I used to sell the rest as key rings.

BUT!!

I love collecting the cells so much for my own collection I went and started buying whole reels and depending on the film it gets VERY expensive.

So I sell what I don't need in my two stores on eBay and Etsy and I'll leave links below as these cells and strips are a great way to reminisce, each time I'm going through my collection most of the movies mean something to me and bring back fond memories for example Coraline just reminds me of my daughters 🥰

So like I said I'm going to try and grow my profile and my business so it would be really helpful if my friends and fellow collectors can occasionally share my posts.

I'm not asking anyone to buy from me as what I do may not be your cup of tea but someone out there might see something of mine that might make a nice birthday present or it just might give you a crafting idea for a unique present.

Fantastic bundle of 30 cells from Transformers revenge of the fallen up on eBay today £15 which equates to 50p a cell, some great scenes and the reel was in great shape. Of course all of my listings have a little wiggle room price wise so that I can send an offer and I'll be putting strips up soon in top loaders that are easy to store and look at while keeping your cells safe!

Coraline, what a great movie, fairly recently I was able to go to the cinema and watch this with my youngest daughter and we both loved it.

I try to stay competitive with my prices but I have to factor in-

The price of the reel
Equipment
My time
Top loaders and acid free bags
Post and packing, eBay only allows £2.72 for postage but my packages are built to withstand our postal system, the top loader protects the cells/strips and the envelope is there to protect against being bashed or left in the rain.

Anyone who has brought from me before knows that I value their custom and more often than not an extra item or two will fall into their order so that they're getting value for money.
