It may seem I’ve not been doing much in the way of crafts, but I’m working on several projects that are taking a lot longer and sometimes I have to make some quick projects in between to break the monotony.

Since Rosie and Meg were having cat fights about who can use the Pixie Cat Bed, I made another. This one was meant for Meg as Rosie had been keeping her out of the first one I made, but guess that didn’t work…

Huge thanks to my husband, Mark, for these gorgeous flowers! Happy 21st Wedding Anniversary to you too, The Man in Seat 61 !! Isn’t it wonderful how they just match the painting by Hans Scholte In 't Hoff ? The flowers were arranged and delivered by Wedding & Occasion Flowers / Emma Clarke and are absolutely stunning!! 🤩

“What’s this thing then? New toy to kick at and roll around with?” says Phoenix.

“No.”says Culprit, “Look you can crawl right inside, it’s cozy!”

Rosie is not so sure… wary of this weird thing, but also intrigued.

Meg explores and looks at mum; “Is this okay mum?”

Rosie is still waiting to see.

Then it’s Dreamies Time and whilst all the cats are motivated by treats, Meg who’s usually first to any food source decides to try the cat bed on for size.

Over the past few days I’ve been reorganising my yarn stash and tying to find space for purchases made over the past few months. Not everything has a place yet, but one cupboard (first pic) is catalogued and entered into my Ravelry database. The second cupboard still needs to be catalogued, although most is already done as I did it when yarn arrived, I just haven’t updated quantities and assigned projects I’ve made in Ravelry to reduce the quantities that I have used up. Going forward I will try to keep on top of this so I know what yarn will be used for what. Projects are allocated to most of the yarns, but not all, so I have flexibility when I see a project that I simply have to make right now. These days have also given my wrists and thumbs much needed time to recover. Today I’m going back to the Sazerac Cabled Top that I’m knitting. I feel I need to pull out a crochet WIP as well and maybe alter between knitting and crochet for a bit.

Friday 23 January 2026

Have started the Sazerac Top by from scratch as I completely lost track of where I was, discovered some annoying mistakes in the zig-zag cables and I wasn’t loving the sections of purl stitch in the yarn that I’m using. I think it was getting too busy with the shine on the yarn. So I’m changing it up with a regular stitch but keeping the seed stitch between the cables. I’m hoping I made the right decision.

Sunday 17 January 2026

Decided not to do the double border around the outer edge as it became quite chunky on the top and would’ve reduced the flexibility of the fabric at the bottom, so stuck with the fringe and one single border stitch.
