Hosting our Christmas shopping event at 151 Churchway is Liz Dee The Silver Workshop
She is working hard behind the scenes organising the garden to bring you a lovely twinkly experience.
Liz is a well known and much loved silversmith in Haddenham, taking commissions for bespoke jewellery by appointment and now offering workshops in her garden room throughout the year.
Liz tells us:
" My inspiration comes from the peace and tranquillity I experience being here in my garden. With me are my trusty assistants Harvey the dog and my bantam hens, mooching around the garden or sheltering in my workshop on a wet day.
Although working primarily in silver, I also incorporate metals such as gold, copper and brass into designs. I add a splash of colour to pieces with precious and semi precious stones, as well as recycled glass and sea glass treasure.
I enjoy the challenge of commissions and I open my workshop all year round by appointment. "

Our favourite multimedia artist Clare - Clare Abbott Artist - will be with us at our shopping event so we recommend a cup of mulled wine while you browse her seasonal gifts and art. She describes her work in her own words:
"I'm Clare and I'm a wildlife, portrait and everything in between artist! I love experimenting with different media and art forms. Whilst pastel will always be my first love, I also enjoy creating giftware from delicate papercuts. I've more recently mastered pyrography as a move towards art using natural materials and with an eco based focus"

Adding elegance to our event this year is Anna - www.annakbaldwin.co.uk - who will be showcasing her beautiful jewellery at our sister venue - 154 Churchway. We can't begin to tell you how stunning her pieces are in real life so the solution is to come and see for yourself!
Anna tells us about her work:
"I design and make all my jewellery myself, working mainly in silver and gold and love creating beautiful, contemporary, wearable pieces. My designs have an organic, tactile feel, often incorporating hammering and shaping techniques to create texture and a sense of movement.
I gain inspiration from many different sources including light, texture and natural fluid forms.
I started doing silversmithing at college evening classes - initially as a recreational activity, before setting up my tiny workshop in 2004 and developing my own collections. I am based in Buckinghamshire and I am a Buckinghamshire Craft Guild member"
