New Hornby OO Announcements this morning. Scotrail HST in both analogue and TXS sound. GBRF Class 66 in both analogue and TXS sound and an addition to the Steam Generator collection with a further Merchant Navy - Cunard White Star Line.

Yesterday was Era two with the Evolution Coaches arriving from Rapido.

Toady we fast forward to the present and very recent past with the latest class 66's from Hornby. Liveries include Freightliner, EWS and GBRF both Sound and Analogue.

Analogue Locos at £85.49 and Sound Fitted at £134.99

We also still have the Drax Gold livery in stock.

We are now down to our last Sound Fitted DP1 Hornby Dublo Deltic. This model is Sold out at Hornby.

The Evolution journey continues. The latest liveries in the the Evolution coach range arrived this morning including the eagerly awaited S&DJR Livery.

Also in this delivery are the Midland Livery and the Great Northern Teak.

New in this morning from Hornby R30338 - The Drummond T9 "Greyhound" in BR Lined Black with the early emblem. The loco is paired with an eight wheel tender. The model carries a 70C shedplate which is appropriate for her allocation to Guildford shed in 1951.

The loco would be reallocated to Nine Elms in May 1954 and finally to Exmouth Junction in March 1959.

Withdrawal came on 29th April 1961.

Images of her at Exmouth Junction and on the North Cornwall line show her still carrying the Early emblem, so a simple change of shed plate is all that is required for her time at other sheds.

The crock of gold is getting smaller. The new Hornby Drax Biomass wagons are probably the fastest selling item we have seen this year. We are now down to our last few. They will not be around for long.

Today 6th March marks the 60th anniversary of the last service trains to operate over the Somerset and Dorset Railway from Bath to Bournmemouth.

Thanks to our friends at The North Dorset Railway Trust, The Somerset and Dorset Railway Heritage Trust and the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust the spirit of the line is kept alive.

The route may have closed but you can still create the line in model form with models from Bachmann, Hornby and EFE including models in the famous Prussian Blue livery as well as models of many of the Station buildings in both OO & N gauge

Well our last post and Christmas seem a distant memory now. We have not been idle here in Aylsham. A nice new shiny website for Bure Valley Models has gone live.

Our old website had served us well over the years but was getting a bit clunky.

A new feature is the ability to pre order forthcoming releases online with no deposit required and payment is only required when the items come into stock. This is now live for all the 2026 Hornby loco releases and we will gradually add all the forthcoming releases.

Another new website option is to pay in instalments. We know models are getting expensive, but you don't want to miss out on the smaller production runs, so a helpful option for some.
