The September Box 📚💕🗺️

I’m proud of every single box I put together, so don’t tell the rest of them that I said that this box might be the one I’m the proudest of 🥹 Working with the women whose creations are in this box was an utter joy and I’m taking a moment to bask in what we put together.

I so enjoyed reading Devoney Looser ‘s insights for this edition, and feel thoroughly prepared to accompany the Dashwood sisters to Devon. The beautiful map of Devon by Maps by Kylie showcases not just her skills as a mapmaker but also as a storyteller. (Thank you for including the ponies 🫶🏻) I love a mini puzzle, so I was so grateful to Thimgan Hayden for licensing me the use of her beautiful artwork for Micro Puzzles to create this lovely, portable activity. I literally can’t believe how well it turned out! Adding to my collection of Austen-themed bookmarks is this beautiful piece by Melissa | Le Fleur & Fables Booktique , which perfectly captures the rolling countryside (a view I’d like to wake up to every day, please and thank you!) and the feeling of being swept up in a good book. And finally, I have been merrily spritzing my whole house with this Barton Cottage since I got it and I can’t believe how lovely it is. Crafted by CAPA | Candle Makers is a genius with scents! I am now fully prepared to nestle in with a re-read of S&S.

I hope you love this box even half as much as I do, and love meeting Elinor and Marianne, whether it’s for the first time or as old friends.

Sense & Sensibility joins her sisters this month 💕 Building up this collection of these STUNNING Penguin Classics deluxe editions has been such a gift for me and for my bookshelves. Five down, one to go before we repeat the cycle again!

September’s note from me 💌
This month marks our twelfth box, bringing home a full year of Austen joy. It’s hard for me to express exactly how I feel about this - proud, bewildered, giddy, and slightly exhausted might suit best. In celebration of all we’ve accomplished, this box is filled with items that are entirely custom-made for us. Continuing our tradition, the editor of our edition of Sense & Sensibility also wrote us a note!

Many of you know that the setting for S&S, the county of Devon, holds a special place in my heart because my family lives there. Hemmed in on the north and south by the ocean, it sports two incredible moors (each with their own species of pony!), sweeping views, and a whole lot of charm. This box situates us right where the Dashwood girls would have been.

Whether this is your first box or your twelfth, I cannot thank you enough for being here. You make the Austen world better and brighter, and I’m so happy we are doing this together.

And the October book is…JANE OF AUSTIN by Hillary Manton Lodge !!!! I’m genuinely SO excited to feature this book next month, because when I contacted the publisher about it ages ago, they said it was out of print. But it’s back! And we get to read it together! And it’s a beautiful S&S retelling set in Texas, and there’s tea and baking, and literally so much yearning, and sisterhood, and AHHHHHHHHHH! Subscribe by September 30 to receive the box!
