We have more copies of this beautiful book created by Peter Dignan: Low-Level Light: A unique book on RAF No. 6 Squadron's desert war experiences.
Using the sketches, notes and memories left behind by his grandfather, William (Bill) Bradley, who served with RAF No. 6 Squadron during the Desert War, Peter has brought together a remarkable book called:
Low-Level Light: Sketches from the Desert War.
What makes this book different is that it's a collection of drawings and observations made by a man who was actually there. From life in the desert to the aircraft, people and places he encountered, it offers a rare glimpse into a part of the war through the eyes of someone who lived it.
One passage in the introduction mentions Bill keeping his hairbrush for the rest of his life after a bullet passed through it while he sat in his tent. It's those small, personal details that bring history to life.
Even better, all profits from the book are being donated to Operation Cairngorms, helping us continue supporting veterans, serving personnel and military families through our woodland programmes.
