Charles Collin-Mézin III was a French violin maker and the grandson of the celebrated luthier Charles Jean-Baptiste Collin-Mézin. Trained in the family workshop in Paris, he continued the Collin-Mézin tradition, crafting violins, violas, and cellos that combined the elegance and tonal quality of his grandfather’s instruments with the practices of early 20th-century French violin making. His work is valued for its craftsmanship, reliability, and clear, projecting tone, representing the final generation of the Collin-Mézin family legacy.

🎻 **Spotlight on Dublin Violin Makers: William Wilkinson** 🎻

Did you know that William Wilkinson was a key figure in early 19th-century Dublin violin making? Active around **1789–1838**, he apprenticed under the legendary **Thomas Perry** and eventually became his **son-in-law**.

Together, they ran the famous workshop **“Perry & Wilkinson”** at No. 4 Anglesea Street, Dublin, producing violins admired for their fine craftsmanship and warm, amber varnish. After Perry’s death in 1818, Wilkinson continued the business, keeping Dublin’s rich violin-making tradition alive.

Instruments from this workshop are rare and highly collectible today, offering a direct link to Ireland’s golden age of lutherie. 🎶

What a very busy week!

From doing MC at the Sean Maguire tribute concert for Belfast TradFest and filming for fleadh TV with liz Doherty it's been all hands on deck. In there I've managed on getting a few violins finished and ready for sale. All in a days work as they say🤣🎻🎶🎶💚

Hi all, a follow up from yesterday's escapades. For all who don't know my violin shop (Braid River Violins) was struck by lightning and it caused considerable damage as expected.
