How to use vermicast?

One of the questions we’re asked most is how to apply it. The good news is it’s incredibly simple.

Just sprinkle a small amount around the base of your plant, then water as normal to work it into the soil.

That’s all there is to it.

Whether you’re growing houseplants, flowers, vegetables or herbs, vermicast is an easy way to improve soil health and give your plants a natural boost.

A little really does go a long way.

How Long Will 5 Litres of Vermicast Last?

A little goes a long way.

Our 5-litre bag of Perky Worms Vermicast can feed dozens of pots, containers, raised beds or garden plants over many months, depending on how you use it.

Here are a few examples:

* Houseplants: enough for 100+ medium pots
* Garden borders: feeds 20–30 established plants
* Vegetable beds: treats 8–10m² when mixed into the soil
* Seedlings: enough for hundreds of young plants

Because vermicast is so nutrient-rich, you only need to use a small handful around each plant or mix 10–20% into your compost.

One bag lasts much longer than most people expect, making it a natural, cost-effective way to keep your plants healthy all season.

Can you use vermicast on indoor plants?

Absolutely! 🌿

Simply sprinkle a small amount onto the surface of the compost and water as normal, or mix it into the top layer of soil. As you water, the nutrients and beneficial microbes are gradually released to support healthy roots, stronger growth and greener leaves.

A little goes a long way, making it an easy, natural way to keep your houseplants thriving.
