The Derbyshire Makers’ 2026 Summer Open Exhibition:
“Every Picture Tells A Story”
August 8th - August 23rd

Peak Village, Rowsley

Join us for our first Open Exhibition and see the wealth of talent in Derbyshire. We have asked the artists to provide a written piece to accompany their work and this has resulted in some thought provoking entries. Most artwork is for sale (cash or card) and there will be additional cards and prints available on selected days.

Prizes have been kindly donated by Chesterfield FC, Peak Village, IPERA, and The Derbyshire Makers.

Mavis and Flossy, one a beautiful Wendsleydale lamb the other a tough Herdwick and proud mother of three! I have the pleasure of both fleeces and invite you to make your own little version. Join me at Beads and Bows Penrith for an afternoon of mindful craft. Aimed at beginners to Needlefelting in a small friendly workshop, we work though various techniques to achieve your very own Lakeland sheep.

Living in a little village in the Peak District is never dull! This week it’s our Gala, a whole week of fun and games. This is my neighbours Scarecrow entry. The theme is Adverts. Sammy the dog is a puppet I made for our local players production for Goodnight Mr Tom and he will now face the indignity of being clipped by his owner who really should have gone to Specsavers!
