The very sad passing of Captain Sir Tom Moore, exemplified so many of the finest traits of the older generation of our countrymen- amongst them stoicism, courage, fortitude all laced with more than a sprinkling of a sense of humour, and not least wisdom. Rest in Peace.

Price and quality have been on my mind for a while, obviously , as it relates to shoes. It comes to this: over the past 25 years we have been educated that cheap is good, and the price is King. Look no further than the success of Primark and McDonald's. ..but unlike a burger, you expect your shoes to last not 10 minutes like a burger, not even days, but for months of wear and tear. Your feet are in them for hours a day. Please do not cut corners on price with regard to shoes. Happy feet are at the heart of your general wellbeing. I am not going to preach about supply chains , child/ slave labour etc. Just make sure you that if you buy price ensure that you do not compromise on the quality your feet deserve. It's difficult times for all of us. Please give a thought to the High Street retailers who, through absolutely no fault of their own, have been shut down. Independent Shoe retailers were having a tough time before the Pandemic. Please support them as we, hopefully, emerge from this dreadful situation. On a positive note, Spring is coming, the days are getting longer, and in years time (I hope) this will all seem like a bad dream!
