Last week I created a very special & personal tribute for a much loved lady.

When discussing tributes with the family they were to include some special florals with sentimental meaning - Lily of the Valley and standard white Carnations were carried in her bridal bouquet many years ago.

I adorned her natural wicker casket with a full natural garland of all white/ivory flowers & trailing varigated foliages as well as a full casket spray in delicate paperwhite narcissus, white roses, stocks, lisianthus and wax flower.

I was pleased to recieve 5 ⭐ feedback on what was a beautiful and fitting tribute.

During lockdown I have attended a number of online courses in sustainable floristry. This is my whole ethos behind my company 'Solace Funeral Flowers'.

Our eco-friendly casket flowers are our most popular design allowing flowers to be distributed after the service, thus reducing waste with no plastics or floral foam ending up in landfill.

"This not only relates to the way flowers are produced, but the range of unsustainable practices that are entrenched in industry and education, in particular the use of floral foam."

On Friday, it was a pleasure to create this naturally styled, feminine casket spray for a lady who loved her pastel colours and orchids.

The family shared with me how she loved these delicate flowers and would have many potted orchids in her home. This tribute included two different varities, the popular potted phalanopsis & cut stems of cymbidiums.

These showy blooms were nestled in amongst large headed white roses, delicate pale blue delphinium, scented stocks, lisiantus, purple clematis, tanecetum daisies with natural grasses and foliages.

A sure sign spring is just around the corner is seeing the spring bulbs pop up through the grass - it makes me happy!

Snowdrops with their delicate white droplet work beautifully in our planted 'living wreaths'. An everlasting memory for a loved one.
