A little bit about me

I get quite a few messages from people asking what I do with all of my beach finds. I have recently had a lot of new followers, so I thought I should do a little post to let you know a little more about me.

I love to be at the beach. Simple as that.

Some say diamonds are a girl's best friend, I choose a beach trip to find some seaglass.

I love using my beach finds to make something new. however, being a small business is tough at the minute, so I am only doing a few markets this Christmas. I am reopening my online store in September (more info to follow) and you can find me year round at the Blackbird in Donaghadee 🌊🩵

Do you ever have one of those days when the kids just won't stop annoying one another? today was one of those days. a trip to the beach always helps, so glad we did - just look at the colours of that seaglass! absolutely gorgeous! 🩵🌊

This photo was taken on Benone beach last week, we had a great first time caravaning up there. Cannot wait to go up again in August 🌞🩵🌊

You won't believe what I found this week!

I went for a walk with my eldest this week around the coast to Groomsport. of course we had to stop for a quick beachcomb at Cocklerow Cottages and I couldn't believe what I found. I had been reading about these strange little creatures and mass strandings in England and Wales and couldn't believe to find not only one, but FOUR here in Groomsport, Northern Ireland. The Valella Valella, aka sea raft, aka by-the-wind-sailor, are typically found in North America, California and Japan (source, Wikipedia) and like warmer temperatures which could explain why they have been recently reported in the UK and Ireland. Never in my life have I seen one of these, strangely shaped, beautifully coloured and with striking markings. they are beautiful but apparently come with a sting, so if you do stumble across one, please bare this in mind 🩵🌊

just a little video to say hi, I am still here but was just taking a little break. school is now over, summer has begun and we are back from our first trip in the caravan. I'll share a little video of that another day, but it was great to get away. Thanks for sticking around 🌊🩵
