Unfortunately due to personal circumstances and extra work which needs to be done so that this project can be delivered without licensing issues etc there will be no event at the clock on the 8th of August as planned. Hopefully it will be set up properly and personal circumstances different after the Bangor Festival. Cheers

This is NOT a complaint or rant. Its a call for much needed change in the City Centre, a small regeneration change but a very important one.

Was going to play music outside Sports Bar today thinking we had a licence but it appears we dont. Really gutted because it would have been lovely, especially for people sat ouside the cafes and restaurants, much better than the noise of generators.

The fact is for every session we do with BSB we have to apply for a temp licence costing £25 per session. As a volunteer this is something i can afford to do personally. Really want this project to work , atmosphere through music is good for the soul and wellbeing. Had a meeting with the MP Claire Hughes this morning and she supports this project.

The GC Regeneration have done a lot of work on Bangor and carried out an extensive consultation. Bringing people together and putting energy into the City Centre is up there as a major priority. Here's a chance to tick another box that can start immediately. Fed up of talking shops and nothing ever happening.

So, doing the right thing, going to work with Regeneration department and Licensing to find a resolution that works. If i have to attend the licensing committee i will. Heres hoping we can work together to make this project work

Absolutely made up that after speaking to the Mayor of Bangor and explaining the wellbeing benefits and generating atmosphere through music,she fully supports the project. Lets hope its a success and it can be just a little part of the Regeneration efforts x

🎶 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀

Local musicians and performers are being invited to take part in Bangor Street Beats, which will be returning to Bangor city centre soon.

The programme, supported by Bangor City Council and Caffi Hafan, will bring live music to the Clock area between 1pm and 4pm, mainly on Saturdays, with some additional weekday sessions.
A small performance fee is available, and organisers are keen to hear from a wide range of acts, including singers, DJs, bands, choirs, acoustic performers and solo artists.

The aim of Bangor Street Beats is to create a welcoming atmosphere in the city centre through music, while supporting wider regeneration efforts and helping promote the services available through Caffi Hafan.

The Bangor Street Beats is the new name for the Bangor Has Soul project. I think regenerating the High St is like putting together a big jigsaw puzzle. It's about a lot of projects coming together, from the big investments Nick and others have made recently, to small positive projects like this, to festivals, music events, community projects, the arts, markets, and so on.

Bangor Street Beats is one of those projects to tick the box. The whole point of this project is to liven up the High Street with some music and entertainment.

On certain Fridays or Saturdays, volunteers will set up a sound system near the clock and other spots, playing different kinds of music in the afternoon. We've got a small budget to pay a little fee (£100) to DJs, singers, and musicians to perform.

We're really hoping this works out and brings a bit of atmosphere to the town centre. If it's a hit, maybe we can ask the City Council for more funding.

This project has the backing of Caffi Hafan Hwb, and we're excited to work with them and share the services they offer.

Thanks to BCC and Caffi Hafan, the Bangor Street Beats will kick off again soon. It will rund around the clock area between 1pm to 4pm and mainly on Saturdays but other days as well.

We have a small budget to give to various performers who might like to do a session. DJ'S, Singers, choirs, groups, solo etc, drop us a message if you are interested. Please forward to anyone you think might be interested.

Some weeks we will just be playing various tunes from various genres. The purpose of this project is to bring atmosphere through music in the City Centre. It's just a small piece of the Regeneration jigsaw. Music lifts people !

We are working along side Caffi Hafan to provide literature from the services they provide. Much more on that to come.
