Bookends Bangor

Bookends Bangor We look forward to welcoming you to Northern Ireland's premier secondhand bookshop. Find beautiful books instore now! We are increasingly selling online.

Bookends Bookshop was established in the ancient Irish coastal town of Bangor in 2003 and has become Northern Ireland’s premier secondhand bookshop with a stock of approximately 40,000 books. Customer service is crucial to Bookends’ philosophy; our shop is bright and airy, the stock is clean and well-ordered, and our staff experienced and knowledgeable. As befits Bangor’s only specialist bookshop,

we have books covering all genres: from history to comics, from rare children’s and antiquarian books to the latest bestsellers. We specialise in Irish history, militaria and transport. We’re so well organised that we can generally lay our hand on the very book you want, but if we don’t have the item you desire in stock we’re ready and willing to source it, regardless of whether it’s an esoteric academic title or that story you remember from childhood and have longed to revisit since. Our main marketplaces are Amazon and Abebooks.co.uk, but if you see a book you like on our page, contact us through email, Facebook Messenger, or by phone. Credit card payments can also be taken over the phone.

We’ve just bought in a very large collection of Girls Annuals, including but not limited to Bunty, Jinty, Judy, and Diana. We’ll be going through them in the next week or so, but if you’re someone who is looking for something in particular, drop us a DM or email and we’ll keep an eye out

A customer left a bag with us, I believe late on Saturday. If this was you please call so you can be reunited!

It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to Bella last week. Bella took a sudden illness that was discovered to be an incurable cancer. She went over the bridge surrounded by love.

Bella was adopted by our owner Jim and Anne from Cavaliers in Need after being fostered by their daughter Lisa, and was lavished with love for the 4 years she was with them.

Bella was fantastic with customers in the shop, and we know she had quite a few fans who will be saddened by this news.

Morning! We’re open till 4 today, as usual 💚

Books are one of the cheapest educations you can get, and probably the most fun too! Hope everyone’s World Book Day is going great, and there weren’t too many last minute costume changes!

I’ve just found out that it’s Tony HAWKS, not Tony HAWK. I just thought he was a talented skater AND travel writer.
This is worse than when I found out that David Mitchell the author was not David Mitchell the actor, but that “Unruly” was written by David Michell the actor now author. Tough times.
Fun fact: Ticket to Ride is a board game based on trains. Ticket to Ride is a book based on trains. Ticket to Ride is a different book based on the board game based on trains.
Bless the day humans invented ISBNs!

Happy Saturday folks. I’m currently rereading Wuthering Heights before I go and hate-watch the movie. The only justifications I have for doing so is that I need to for accurate criticism and that I have an Omnipass, so the ticket is free. We have copies in stock if anyone else would like to do the same!
