We are on the lookout for a Section Leader.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing production lines/production area within the factory. The area will comprise of a group of assets, process and people. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of safety, quality, GMP standards, performance KPI’s and the training and development for all full time operators and agency staff assigned to the area.

We’re on the lookout for a Shift Manager to join our team.

As a Shift Manager in the horticulture industry, you will be expected to have excellent management abilities, showing the ability to complete day-to-day planning alongside being responsible for the training and development plans of all permanent and temporary staff.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities are imperative to succeed in this role, as you will be expected to also carry out a range of HR and training activities. It is essential that you have experience of managing within a fast paced production environment. You must have an excellent knowledge of health and safety policies. It is highly desirable that you have a recognised qualification in health and safety and a management qualification.

Exposure to and use of modern production control methodologies, such as Lean and 6 Sigma, is an important requirement. It is not necessary to have qualifications in these subjects but it is essential to have a good working knowledge of them.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety standards are being adhered to, whilst maintaining our customers quality standards. Further to this, you will be responsible for managing KPI’s of all permanent and temporary staff.

Finishing Centre Job Vacancy – Despatch Packing Seasonal

The Role
You will be working in the packing operation at our Finishing Centre on day shift. On a busy day this means that you will be involved in the packing of over 20,000 customer orders onto 1,400 trolleys. The focus of the role is very much about ensuring that your team work to the quality and productivity targets set by the business. The key to this will be your approach to the training you give and the way that you manage them.
You will be involved in packing of trolleys to correct quantities and quality.
You will report to the Section Leader Despatch Days.
The person we are looking for, as no two days are the same you must be flexible in your approach. Ideally you will have spent time working in a fast moving production or packing environment. You must be able to demonstrate to us that you have the desire to be successful and complete your work in a professional manner.Good spoken English is important as is a good level of numeracy.

Finishing Centre Job Vacancy – Section Leader – Despatch Late Shift

The Role
You will be working in the packing operation at our Finishing Centre on late shift. On a busy day this means that you will be involved in the packing of over 20,000 customer orders onto 1,400 trolleys. You will support the Department Leader by looking after a team of up to 15 packing staff. Your responsibility will be to train and then assist your staff in their job of packing customer orders. The focus of the role is very much about ensuring that your team work to the quality and productivity targets set by the business. The key to this will be your approach to the training you give and the way that you manage them.
Your team will be involved in a variety of tasks from the packing of trolleys to checking quantities and quality to wrapping and loading trolleys as well as setting up and equipment control.
The role has the potential to be varied and the satisfaction to be gained from building a high performing team should be attractive to you.
You will report to the Department Leader Despatch Lates.
The person we are looking for
As no two days are the same you must be flexible in your approach. Ideally you will have spent time working or team leading in a fast moving production or packing environment. Department Leader – Despatch Lates

The Role
You will be looking after the packing, wrapping and despatch operation at our Finishing Centre on the late shift. On a busy day this means that you will oversee the packing, wrapping and despatch of over 20,000 customer orders on to 1,400 trolleys with up to 15 staff. To help you with this you will have one Section Leader working for you.
The scope of the role is to complete the packing operation done on the day shift. You will ensure that the quality of the plants and their presentation on the trolleys is of the highest standard. You will also be responsible for the accuracy of the packing. Once customer trolleys are packed they are wrapped and then despatched; all of which is your responsibility.

The person we are looking for
As no two days are the same you must be flexible in your approach. You absolutely must have experience of supervising in a fast moving production, packing or despatch environment. You must be used to working to, and driving, productivity targets. You will need to achieve this through your team of Section Leader and staff so you must have good man management and motivation skills.
Good spoken and written English is important as is a good level of numeracy.

If you are interested in working in an environment that changes every day and that can provide rewarding challenges then the Finishing Centre currently has seven vacancies to suit a range of experience and abilities.

Section Leader – Despatch Days & Nights – One vacancy for each

Reporting to the Department Leader for Despatch you will be responsible for the effective operation of one of the Finishing Centre (FC) despatch areas whilst on shift. Whilst the vacancy is specifically for the Packing and Despatch area you will be expected to work in Goods In and Production areas as required. The position of Section Leader at the FC should be regarded as challenging but rewarding. You will manage a team made up of seasonal and agency staff.

To be successful in your application you will need to be able to demonstrate that you understand how production works and have had some experience in a production environment. You will also need to possess good spoken and ideally written English.

Section Leader – Production – One vacancy

In this position you will be reporting to the Department Leader and will help them to manage the department through Line Leaders, seasonal and agency staff.

This is a busy role that requires an ability to think on your feet and to get the best out of your staff when no two days are the same. To do this you will need to have a cool head and had some experience of working on production lines or managing them. You will also need to possess good spoken English.
