FROM THE ORIGINAL GREEN FIELDS TO RUSTIQUE HQ!
Why buy a generic, flat-pack canvas print when you can own a genuine slice of British festival history?
Fresh onto the shop floor here at Rustique HQ on Rainhall Road, we have an absolute stunner for the music lovers, historians, and bohemian souls: an Original Vintage Tibetan Buddhist Wheel of Life (Bhavachakra) Print.
Before you ask—no, it doesn't say "Glastonbury 1971" on it.
Back then, they were far too busy manifesting good vibes to worry about corporate branding.
However, this massive statement piece (measuring a grand 31" x 20.5" and 35”x26” in the frame) was brought back firsthand by a local attendee who was right there in the mud for the legendary first three years:
• The inaugural 1970 Pilton Blues Fest.
• The historic 1971 Glastonbury Fayre.
• The 1972 gathering.
The Nitty-Gritty:
The Medium ~ A gorgeous, striking black-and-white woodblock or screen print.
The Paper ~ Printed on traditional, lightweight Himalayan style handmade paper featuring beautiful, organic 'wavy' deckled edges.
The Story ~ It represents the endless cosmic cycle of life, death, and cosmic karma—essentially a 1970s festival itinerary, minus the cider!
The Proof: Brought back to Barlick by an old friend of mine who attended the festivals. Currently putting a C.o.A together.
Whether you want to bring some vintage counterculture to your living room or just want a striking conversation starter that survived the apex of the hippie movement, this is second-hand at its absolute best.
Pop into the shop to study the textures and natural patina for yourself—photos just don’t do this survivor justice!
