Here are some of the fabulously decorated dragons and capybaras from yesterday's final workshop of the summer.

It's gone so fast but After School Club will start up again on Thursday 10th September. I'm also looking at the possibility of a Friday after school session if I can get enough interest for a group.

I have a few pottery blanks of the dragons and capybaras left if anyone wants to buy any to paint at home. Let me know if so and I'll make up a few kits with acrylic paint. ❤️

This dragon from TAD GLASS is absolutely stunning! She has just been in to the shop to restock her stained glass, as well as bring in some adorable little ghosts. We don't have the dragon here but I had to share it because it is a wonderful example of how talented the artists are here at heART of HANDMADE ♥️

Sometimes you just need to have some fun so this week I’ve made this lovely pattern from Kylie 🌱. The pattern is free. She is very generous allowing everyone to access her pattern archive. A great big thank you to K Glass Creations! Why not give her a follow? In a week where I have been making Christmas decorations, Halloween pieces and a small commission I really needed to make something to just enjoy the process. A bit tricky to get the lead wrapped into the smaller gaps but I think it came out well. Regardless I had a lot of fun.

UPDATE - apparently the photo "evidence" wasn't taken in my shop after all so they've closed my case! 🎉 The mystery shopper photo was compared to online photos of my shop and they realised that it was taken in a different shop! 🙄 Phew, well it was all a big waste of time and energy but at least that's one thing ticked off my to-do list! ❤️

Well of all the threats to take "legal action" against me for not having "correct" documentation, this one takes the biscuit.

Apparently, "music is audible within the business premises" and as I do not have a music licence, I will be subject to legal action if I don't obtain one. Well actually, someone called "Emily Lawlan" will be subject to "legal action" but I'm not sure who she is or why she would be trading at my business address...

To clarify, yes, music is often audible at my business address. But no, I do not have a music licence and no, I am not responsible for music being audible at my business address. If "music is audible within the business premises," kindly speak to the Garrison, because it's their music coming through the air vent - it's not my music! 🤣

I'm going to file this one under "another stupid scam attempt" and leave it there! 🤣🤣🤣

⭐️⭐️⭐️Next week, the shop will be closed because I'm taking a little break to spend time with my family.⭐️⭐️⭐️

I must say, I feel very ready for this break after what has ended up being quite a difficult year with one thing and another.

The shop will close at 4pm on Saturday 22nd August and be closed throughout the following week. Sonya will reopen and mind the shop for me on Wednesday 2nd September and Bekki and Tracey will mind the shop on Thursday 3rd September. I'll be back to work on Friday 4th.

Whilst the shop is closed, no one will be answering social media messages or emails (the out of office reply will be set), but Sonya will be in charge of the shop phone and will answer any enquiries or take messages where possible. I'll still be in the shop tomorrow and Saturday (22nd) so do call in. ❤️

We've had a fabulous time so far this summer, with our children's craft workshops! We've got just one date left in the diary for these - pottery painting, capybara or dragon - on Thursday 20th (see the pottery examples in the photos below). There are just a couple of spaces left on the afternoon session and these are available to book on the website.

I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by! It'll be term time again before we know it, so let's get messy and creative one last time - we'll have a blast! ❤️
