Mrs Twiglet's Book Barn - In Partnership with Usborne

Join me in the wonderful world of children's books. Expand your children's minds - as well as your bookshelf! Welcome to my wonderful world of children's books!

Let me tell you a story.....Once upon a time, a little boy wanted a book about trains. His mummy (me) liked to find things that were a little bit unusual - quirky, that's the word. She searched high and low.....at last, she found the perfect book! Fold out pages, lift up flaps, bright colours, big pictures and words - the type of book that you can literally fall into, and they spent many, many bedtimes reading that book. Now, the little boy had a twin sister, and it wasn't very easy to just buy one book. So, off the mummy went again to look for a book for the little girl. The quest for a 'book with a difference' was much easier this time because the mummy knew just where to go! She couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the range of books, she was spoilt for choice! Should she choose an activity book, a wind up book, a colouring book, she just didn't know which to choose, but then she found the perfect one - Sticker Dolly Dressing! The little girl was so happy and she started doing the stickers straight away - sticking the clothes on the dollies in the pages. The mummy couldn't believe her ears, it was the quietest she had ever known her little girl! It was from there that our Usborne love story began, and now I want to help you find just the right books for your children. With over 2500 titles, it's books galore - for those curious babies and toddlers who want to look under flaps and watch things go; for all those questions your inquisitive children ask; and there's even something interesting for those adorable teenagers! There's also lots and lots for schools too, so get in touch if you're a teacher! Please, come and join my twins and me in the wonderful world of books, and expand your children's minds - as well as your bookshelf! P.S. 🎉📚 MRS TWIGLET’S BOOK BARN IS 11 TODAY!!! 📚🎉🎈🎂🎊

On this day 11 years ago, I started my little bookshop and I genuinely don’t think I could ever have imagined where it would take me. 📖✨🌍

It actually took me three months to decide whether I was going to go for it! ⏳🤔💭 I went backwards and forwards, thought about it, overthought it and now, looking back, I just wish I’d joined as soon as I first found out about the opportunity. 🔙💡🙏

Saying yes to it ended up changing so much for me 💛🌻✨

Over those 11 years there have been thousands and thousands of books, events, schools, nurseries, Christmas fairs, recommendations, parcels, conversations, friendships and, most importantly, so many books finding their way into children’s hands 🥰📚💖

Somewhere along the way, it became about so much more than just my own little bookshop too. 🛤️📖🌟

People started joining me and they started building their own bookshops, finding their own customers, working with their own schools and communities and getting even more books out there 💛🤝📈

Today, there are nearly 250 people in my wider team, including 10 absolutely fantastic Team Leaders, and I feel incredibly proud when I think about just how many children we are collectively reaching with brilliant books 📚🥹🌟

That is probably one of the things I love most about what this not so little business has grown into. 🌱📖💫

Mrs Twiglet’s Book Barn has changed and evolved a lot over 11 years, but the thing at the heart of it has never really changed… 🕰️🔄❤️

Getting brilliant books into the hands of children 💛📚🌈

I am so grateful to every single person who has bought a book from me, recommended me, booked me for an event, invited me into their school or nursery, shared one of my posts, joined my team, built alongside me, sent somebody my way or simply cheered me on. 🙏📖✨

You have all been part of these 11 years 🥹🎉🎈

I still absolutely LOVE what I do. ❤️📚😍

So today I am raising a very big imaginary birthday cake to Mrs Twiglet’s Book Barn… 🎂😂🍰

🥳 HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BOOKSHOP! 🥳🎊🎈

Here’s to lots more books, lots more children discovering stories they love, lots more people building their own book businesses and lots more adventures to come 📚✨🚀

Thank you for being part of it 💛🙌🌟

My home for four days 😍......at my 31st Leadership event 😁

Our Christmas season has well and truly kicked off 🎄🤩 I really do love this time of year!!! 😁

This week, I’m sharing lots of tips and ideas with my team about how they can work mainly from home, providing our lovely books to people who are organising Santa’s grottos and Father Christmas experiences 🎅📚

It’s just another of the many ways we can get more books into children’s hands and celebrate reading 🥰

If you’re organising a grotto or Christmas experience and looking for a great quality gift for the children, get in touch 😊

And if you’d like some additional pennies in your pocket this Christmas while helping us get even more books out there, I’d love to hear from you too 🙋‍♀️🎄
